Ambition is one thing but coming halfway round the world into totally different cultures and expect to be riding every day in different counties that seems to be the problem. Complaining of no sleep and contestant travelling etc.

Uk needs riders so establish yourself here first then look to Europe when you’re good enough.

I don't know why Poole would want him after this episode, if Bowes leaves Workington because he's in a huff, why would Poole assume he wouldn't do the same to them? It's not like Poole don't have options.

he Workington club received information prior to fixture versus Berwick on Saturday 27th September that Fraser Bowes had refused to travel back to the UK from his base in Poland to participate in this final fixture.

By Mr Bowes refusing to compete on the 27th of September he has breached SCB Regulation - 017.2 i) Failure to attend from a meeting duly listed on the official fixture list. 

Due to this breach of the Regulations, Mr Bowes SCB Registration will be suspended for a period of 28 days as from the 27th of September.

”I love speedway, I ride in Poland, it’s been a busy season, I was criticised in Poland, I wanted to be at Poole, my season is over”.. What?

There’s such an emphasis put on Poland - the sparring match, the U24 spot, someone called Marek’s comments, etc. - that you assume the target of the statement is Poland.

I can only assume the reference to clubs struggling financially and riders not being paid is in regard to Workington. Were the difficulties with travel to Poole the straw that broke the camel’s back? Who knows?

From what I hear transport was arranged to take the bikes to Poole, but the rider forgot or did not want to arrange transport to get himself to Poole. So no fault of worky .

  Also the ban is meaningless as the season is over, why can't it be rolled over to the 2026 season

Another rider who thinks he’s above the sport. Don’t even bother coming over here next year, you won’t be missed that’s for sure.

Really poor from Bowes, if that’s the case.

Then again and I’m playing Devil’s advocate here, but if he hasn’t been paid - as can easily be assumed from his statement - then perhaps a single inconvenience is all it took for the toys to leave the pram.

Either way, it isn’t good for the sport.

Oh dear, so that rules him out of the...*checks notes* Premiership PO final. The guy has explicitly told everyone his season is over and they've responded by banning him for 28 days. Shambles.

Poland haven't been paying lots of riders in ALL leagues, why do you assume it's worky's fault, I know some issues reared it's head mid season, but surely the promotion would be sqeekey clean after that

I’m led to believe Poland is where the money is and Workington’s financial troubles have been well documented this season, so I’m sure you can see where I put two and two together.

Poland has always been where the money is ,but getting them to hand it over has been a problem for a number of riders over the years.

Workingtons problems had nothing to do with money,steve was very clear in the "star" about that.

I believe the business was running under the old training track name which doesn’t exist anymore. Note, I said I believe.

Fraser  is owed a small fortune from Poland same as a lot of riders this year, that’s why they are chucking the under 24 league and making it a junior league next year

That my point about riders whose ambitions are in Poland even if your decent over here your just “used” in Poland.As a lot of them have found out. Bowes has attended meetings in Poland missing fixtures in GB and has just sat in the pits not being used. His last match in Poland was 4 rides 0 pts hardly inspiring stuff.
