As Starkey said in interview the track was different tonight - so easy to ride with not so much material on it compared to how most of the team want it for League meetings.

Incidentally 20 heats run in under 2 hours. Only 3 d/qs or slide-offs.

Only 4 points separating the top 5 finishers. Well done to all and both current Pirates on the podium.

Wasn’t an even meeting really

Starke clear favourite and won easily

The next batch of riders Foord Ritchings Rushen and Morley miles better then the others ….

Starke decent tonight. Not up against much and only led for half a lap in his last before he blasted around Ben Morley. Pick of the rest was Vinnie Ford who got a very warm reception, and Richings who battled well. They all met in heat 14 and Starke just gated and rode away from any threat.

No idea where Cook is on Friday. But with Barker guesting for Boughen we have no chance and will do well to get to 40 points. Fancy our chances better on Saturday at Workington.

What average is Morley on in champ ?

With tonight's meeting being advertised as:-

Harbour Masters Championship (National League Riders Development Individual)

Then why is Paul Starke replacing William Cairns?

We Know William is injured, but which National League team Does Paul Starke represent?

So no real answer to the question!

Starke wins depriving the National League Riders Development in order for more track time to improve his prior dismal performances.

Hope he is really proud of his win at the cost of Youth Development and Poole made a profit on the meeting!

15 development league riders rode in this meeting. Starke stopping a 16th rider getting a ride, isn't really gonna hurt youth development in Britain.

Starke riding also give riders looking for a Champ spot someone to try & beat to prove they are ready for the step up. If any rider beat him they'd maybe get a foot in the door & be in line for guest bookings / Champ team spots.

Who do you think it should have been then? Starke was available to ride to make up the numbers, could have had Luke harrison but he was at Oxford tonight.

You wouldn't believe the struggle to find 2 riders when Will withdrew.

Maybe just maybe Starke was a last resort

People don't seem to realise how difficult it can be to get 16 riders (or 14 if 2 teams) of similar ndl-level ability to get to a midweek meeting once let alone on a regular basis.

I see a much bigger issue.

Starke's inclusion meant this was no longer an NDL meeting, and so would have to be classed as a Championship standard meeting.

Riders have to be 16 to ride in a Championship standard meeting, but Cooper Rushen rode at age 15.

Thank god there was  no serious accident, or there would have been one hell of a problem with the insurers.   Can't believe Vatcher allowed this to go ahead.
