He’s usually a double figure rider at the Aston Flux Arena though, has been for 3-4 years now

Ok well he hasnt hit form yet like so many others, be interesting on Wednesday to see who performs better Masters or Lawson as they both struggled last night

Looks like Harris will go to No. 1 and Klindt to No. 6.

As much as I hope Ben is ok and obviously wish him a speedy recovery, it could be a blessing in disguise for Lynn if they can now bring in a genuine No. 1 to replace Cook and bring in a 5 pointer at reserve.

1. 8.00 assessed rider (replacing Cook)

2. Lawson - 6.74

3. Iversen - 6.64

4. Klindt - 6.13

5. Harris - 6.87

6. 5.00 assessed rider (replacing Kvech)

7. Boughen - RS

Total - 39.38

Lynn are never going to rip up the template after four league matches, nor are they going to dispense with Kvech in April. And personally I would only replace Cook if he was going to drop to reserve, and even then onlyΒ  temporarily.

All very well saying '8 point and 5 point assessed' riders but who is realistically going to come over when they've got their season planned out and Poland had started.

Cook can't seem to catch a break in the UK at the moment (though maybe his wrist)

Your boys were caught out by the track early on, not sure why it was prepared like that, if it was for Bomber, again I'm not sure why as he was riding it as good at the end of the meeting as he was at the start.Β

There are riders and racers, it’s obvious which bracket Bombers in.

Dan Gilkes imo, I hope he proves me wrong but I've not really seen anything from Sam Hagon, besides his U21 win, for me to rate him. He's got the name but the Hagon name is more famous for Speedway sponsorship than it is for Speedway pedigree, although Martin was quite decent on the Grass and Long tracks I believe.Β

Sam's Grandad, Alf, rode for Leicester Hunters from 1957 until 1961. According to Alan Jones' book on the Leicester Hunters Era he was the anchorman between reserves and heat leaders. He rode for England five times during their winter tour of Australia in 1958/59.

Just a side note... the commentator on BSN last night stated that Bomber wouldn't have been able to be selected for a Super Heat if he'd taken 7 rides. It didn't sound right, I've checked the rules and the maximum 7 rides per rider applies to the 15 heats only.

Confirmed broken wrist for Ben Cook confirmed by Leszno

Translated by Google, Statement below

"Ben Cook has a broken wrist after yesterday's accident in the English league. At the moment we cannot estimate how long the Australian will be out of action. The training staff may use the player's eligible replacement, decisions in this matter will be made immediately before the match in Krosno" - we read in the club's statement.

This fantasy speedway who and where is this 8 point assessed rider ?Β
The team is what it is for this season .Β
There might be changes if injuries force the situation and who knows Robert Lambert might fancy the last month of the season once Poland and the GPs have finished - but for now I honestly can’t see any change in the teamΒ

Some good races last night, hope Ben will be back soon, the track looked a bit strange on the 4th bend, meeting took longer than usual partly due to the tractor display again. First league win so onwards and upwards.

Just a question I don’t have the answer to

What 2 riders would you like to see who are better than Cook or Kvech?

Depends if you want the unrealistic or realistic option…

UnrealisticΒ

1. Lambert / Dudek / Vaculik / Michelsen / Lindgren / R JensenΒ

2. And any assessed 5.0 rider. If Oxford can get Gusts to come over then I’m sure Lynn can find a middle of the road Extraleague/2 Extraleague rider to come in at reserveΒ

RealisticΒ

1. Thomsen / Wozniak / Berntzon / Huckenbeck / ThorsellΒ

2. again, any assessed 5.0-6.0 assessed rider.Β

Personally, I see any specific name mentioned above as a more natural No. 1 than Cook and more consistent than Kvech.Β

if there are two changes then i imagine the 5 point rider would be Kerr.Β

I'm really surprised Dan Gilkes was overlooked at the start of the season. Surely Leicester or Kings Lynn will sign him sooner rather than later. I don't think it is Hagon or Boughen's fault that they are struggling. In the cold day of light neither should be anywhere near the top league. How can Hagon a 2nd division reserve be expected to score pts in the top league!Β When you look at the rising stars in general. The two Ipswich boys are head and shoulders above the rest. Maybe Kemp on his good days would be a match, but as last night proved. If he isn't in the mood he can really be woeful.

Gilkes wasn't great for Sheffield last year, so while he was an option, I wouldn't say it's shocking he didn't get picked.

Boughen is on a par with Gilkes in the Champ, so Lynn could (rightly imo) think no point in swapping Boughen for Gilkes.

Hagon is only a reserve because 1) he has a British reduction, 2) because Berwick have built their team to have a strong reserve. For example Hagon has a higher average than fellow "rising star" Mulford who is in Redcar's top 5.

Gilkes may come into contention at some point, but I wouldn't expect any Prem side to change their RS this early in the season.
