Pirates Of Poole
We were lucky to keep it close and we fought back well from 10 down. Again a slow start which we can’t seem to shrug off, we have had a decent amount of meetings now to do that, going back to 2009,2017 & 2019 the team as a whole just isn’t gelling and that is the same in this instance. Cairns isn’t going to make the difference when he comes in and it shouldn’t be expected he will as your just putting a sticky plaster over the situation and the rest of the team. No disrespect to Scunthorpe, Edinburgh or Berwick who have struggled also at the start of this season, we are stronger than them and should beat them. But people need to take their blue tinted glasses off if they think when Oxford, Redcar and Glasgow meet us we will not be found out with this team, it’s simply not strong enough. That’s not being negative that’s being honest and real about the situation with the team we have put together in 2025. We will make the playoffs I’m certain, but with this team currently we won’t be making it past the semi final stages and that will be the same for the cup competition. Just because a rider has one good meeting, as the saying goes a swallow doesn’t make a summer! Well done to Berwick last night, you wanted it more and rode very well. No disrespect to Poole but Scunthorpe should be in the BSN series semi final instead of Poole. They at least won 2 of their 4 matches whereas the superstars of Poole won 1 and drew 1.

I thought that was what pirates of Poole was saying when he said "no disrespect to Scunthorpe, Edinburgh and Berwick but we are stronger than them and should beat them". You cannot take any team for granted especially on their own track unless you think you are superstars. I was pointing out that as far as I was concerned Scunthorpe had a better record in the BSN series qualifiers than Poole by winning 2 of the 4 matches whereas Poole won 1 and drew 1 of their 4 matches. If you say we have a good chance of winning then that is completely different to saying we "should beat them". You cannot win every meeting you know. Poole didn't win every meeting last season but still won every trophy.😇

Lawson is flying and the main reason we kept it close. We dont have any divine right to beat anyone but I still think this team is capable of winning the play offs, certain riders need to be better but come the play offs they will be I am sure and we will still be the team to beat, that does not mean we will win but we have as good a chance as everyone else in the league. That is your opinion. I can accept your points as you are not completely dismissing 3 teams like your colleague.
