And there was me thinking you actually knew something rather than relying on logic and optimism.....

I was told there was and was shocked to find there wasn’t. So not sure what happened. But hope they learn for today although probably too late to get anyone in. Especially when all food vendors locally will be at park life

why did they scale back because it was making a loss, why was it making a loss despite all the razzamatazz you so openly believe is much needed?...simple, the vast majority of the paying public who went were not entertained for the main reason in going in the first place...make the product entertaining and the rest is a bonus.

They scaled back because of greed and complacency not because the were losing money ,Enjoy your speedway because sadly your short sightedness will be the end of speedway in the uk, good racing or not

Why would we do that, we are speedway fans.  Darts looks great on tv but it's just loads of people having a great time on the p1ss.

Speedway can only attract a new audience if the racing is exciting,  so last night was a success in those terms and anyone who watched on tv couldn't fail to be impressed, providing they actually like watching bikes in the first place.

You surely must have noticed that you are the only one on here who thinks like you do, yet you keep on banging the same drum and calling the rest of us shortsighted and thick, quite insulting really mate.

Another short sighted post who can’t see the bigger picture and clearly doesn’t look past the speedway borders

What you looking for, Dean, does not exist in Britain at the moment.....a city centre track. Earlier you mentioned Workington, great track, so is I believe Redcar and Scunthorpe, throw in Glasgow and that's your nearest to Newcastle (that have a reputation of being race tracks). Could argue Sheffield is close to city centre...maybe 1 mile away, after that struggling for good race tracks until get to Poole.  Iffy would be the likes of Ipswich, Oxford and Leicester, Kings Lynn may be viable...but that's it IMO.

Belle Vue is not just a good race track...it's brilliant.  After last night GP I was on YouTube and watched some heats from the BLRC, Peter Collins gate 1, Ivan Mauger gate 4, two other very capable riders. Collins had to come from the back (not a shock) to pass Mauger.....it was just like watching last night's SGP... passing line so similar.  Not surprising since Mort designed the NSS, and he took into account not only Hyde Road but also some Euro tracks..I believe Torun was one of them.

Point is...there is nothing else available in Britain to match the NSS....it just needs tweaking is some areas, like food and drink. Surprised no one mentioned toilet facilities. Back on 2016, for the world team/pairs, facilities for the 3rd/4th bend were lacking.

I was in the north stand bock D and enjoyed the racing and everything else does not matter to me as long as the racing is good,If I wanted to get pissed I can choose any pub in Manchester and not that important to me being a real ale drinker in my time. But hey ho each to their own.Nice seeing Tai actually walking last night and well done Dan Bewley on the win.Looking forward to tonight.

The racing was great as most of us anticipated, with the NSS living up to its status as Britain's no 1 racing track (personally I prefer Redcar and I know Worky has its advocates too)

It appears there were issues yesterday, but these were logistical in nature, and can be solved relatively easily with some competent organisational input. [Something our sport is not overly blessed with]

What is more difficult to resolve is making the GP series a more meaningful competition. We now have 20 heats of what are essentially exhibition races, followed by the three that matter.

I suggest speedway isn’t the sport for you, and this forum isn’t the place for you.

I haven’t called anyone thick and I’m not entering a popularity contest, I’m showing you imo the wrong direction for the sport and in particular the GP , if you don’t like it then fine, couldn’t care less either way, I guessing your of a certain age and not really on the pulse of what ticks in today’s society, neither am I and quite frankly hate the things like influencers and the like but I understand the general public want to be entertained and feel like they getting the best for their pound and a one off meeting at belle vue isn’t going to attract anyone but the hard core speedway fan and no matter how good the racing is that will never change

I give up, of all the people despite your belle vue bias would understand the point I am making but I guess not

Yet more insults, ffs give it a rest and enjoy the fact you've got the house to yourself for the weekend.

Why would they want to attend any your obvious favourite events? They were just there to watch speedway, Cardiff was a shambles for years and all this fanny about the experience, do me a favour, a joke of a fan zone so far away from stadium you needed new shoes after walking there, couple of street sellers and pubs (which every city has) so what, the GP is 2/3 hours long not all day and certainly apart from this particular time not a weekend, I suggest if you are not happy with what the majority enjoyed last night walk away, tap your keyboard and see how happy that makes you. Embarrassing post

I’ve never been to BSB and I’ve only been to Weston beach race when travelling back from a meeting and stopped of at Weston, yes I have been to the darts a couple of times but I’m not a fan, I went with a mate and it was amazing even though it was a couple of blokes throwing a pointed stick at a target, just to clarify

A fantastic meeting watching on TV, usually go to Cardiff, but knowing the area around belle Vue does not lead to a good social day out before the speedway, I and others I know opted out of going. Yes we missed a fellow Cumbrian Dan Bewley winning again. Going to a local club tonight to watch, just hope discovery have realised that the camera work was very poor and have called BSN to help them out .   Hopefully a good racing meeting like last night and another win for Dan Bewley

Oh bless you took offence I didn’t give it

Not offended at all mate, it's good banter, just a shame you are like the bloke in the pub that nobody listens to, mainly because he's a know nothing know all.

Your only suggestion is to move it to the North East, that hotbed of speedway Newcastle, brilliant.
