As stated it’s their business as to how they run it and they’re not committing any crime so good luck to them. Also their redevelopment of the stadium is admirable. However they seem to relish being big fish in a small pond it what has been termed a “ten pound sport” and as such this is upsetting the overall balance of the competition. Their status would determine that they should be in the Premiership. Why have they never applied for this .? Glasgow can only sign 7 riders. They have to conform to the rules in relation to team averages. Once Glasgow has signed these riders and agreed terms with them how does that force other clubs to offer silly money for all other riders in the world? The real issue is the money Poland can offer. Incidentally no one mentions the money that Peter Carr, Freddie Schott, etc were on.

Because there's no appetite for it, increase in costs wouldn't be bourne out by any bigger attendances imo (see Birmingham). Also Glasgow's best attendances are on Friday nights, run on a Monday and will only go down

Apart from costs.Glasgow and Poole have both stated they want to race on their preferred race nights. Not Mondays and Thursdays.

Their status would determine that they should be in the Premiership. Why have they never applied for this .? Race nights (prob don't want to race Monday/Thursday)? No local league derbies (nearest opposition Belle Vue, hardly "local")? Happy where they are? Could be a host of reasons. They still have to build a team to whatever the points limit is, no matter what league they are in and it's getting the right riders in, not just the "superstars". Just 'cos they (allegedly) have the cash to throw at it, doesn't mean to say they have to be in the "top" league, racing against teams nowhere near (location wise) costing the fans an absolute fortune to travel away to the same tracks twice. Also they would (probably) increase the admission for home meetings, to see, near enough, the same riders they are seeing now. I think I'd be trusting the promotion on knowing what they are doing, on and off track.

It’s ruined the league by forcing other clubs to live outwith their means, or they just accept that they’re only making up the numbers. Rider demands have went through the roof since Glasgow started throwing money about. Clubs either need to pay wages they can’t afford, or field a non competitive team… it’s unsustainable for the league. Funny you say that, when we've won the league only once, failed to make the playoffs last year, and even if you bank on us getting one playoff spot, there's three more up for grabs... We've managed to lose playoffs to Leicester and Poole, and frequently struggle to beat Redcar and Edinburgh in the cup competitions. Seems like we're not really blowing everyone out of the water. It also wasn't us forcing Workington to move up to the Championship, and arguably the league is the most level it's been for a while this year! Not mentioning any names had to drop out of racing in the NDL as he was only offered a pittance... The speedway game in the UK is dying big time ... & I've supported the sport for over 50 years but it's on the big decline sadly Surely that's the clubs fault then? If they pay riders high amounts regardless of their scores, clubs can only blame themselves imo
