There is no way in hell that Brennan would “throw it”… if he doesn’t score that well then it’s because he’s had an off night, simple as that

I know it was joke, clearly that wasn’t that easy to spot! I thought the exclamation mark might have given it away.

Biggest joke. He is in the SGP, if you don’t think you’re good enough to get top 7 then don’t bother entering, trying to get another way in isn’t fair! Sheffield should come first, not your individual commitments. Biggest joke of the sport IMO!

7 of the current 15 SGP riders are riding in the qualifiers over this weekend. Do you feel the same about all of them, or just hating on Holder ?

Bearing in mind the injuries to Doyle both last year and this year, Woffinden last year, and even Holder in 2023, it is easy to see how any rider can miss out on a top 7 finish even if they are good enough. Is it really that wrong for them to hedge their bets just in case that season ending injury is just around the corner ?

My personal opinion is I would prefer riders to go through the qualifying system to prove they’re capable enough to ride in the GP, rather than expect a wildcard based on their name, nationality etc etc.

I personally think the wildcard system is a joke anyway. The SGP stated that “12 spots in the 15-rider line-up can now only be earned on sporting merit”.

It should be the whole 15-rider lineup earned on sporting merit, whether that is through the SGP itself, or qualifying.

I would structure it as follows:

Top 8 automatically qualify

Top 6 from SGP Challenge qualify

SEC Champion qualifies

That way every position has been earned by sporting merit, and not some joke wildcard pick, which are being wasted by not even selecting the riders who should be in the SGP anyway (Laguta and Sayfutdinov)…

Although, if they're interested enough after watching it, and look for other scores, they'll wonder why Brennan rides for Ipswich against Sheffield on Thursday night ...

Any newcomers would have forgotten the name Tom Brennan by the time they exited the gates.

Hope Luke Becker recovers asap and my best wishes go out to him but another bad crash/injury in the Polish Leagues. Big fast tracks, lots of pressure to do well and quite probably, some riders trying too hard and over riding.
