I was a regular at lynn from 91-95 and the racing was always fantastic. But those were the days of loram Gustafson and Bobby ott Brilliant days I had stopped going before Ott joined but remember Loram , Henka and Dennis Lofquist at reserve, I would have been late teens then, stood on the second bend with one of my oldest friends and his dad who drove us to meetings all over the UK. A great character we christened Nutter would spend 99% of his time in the bar and pop out for ten seconds whenever Richard Knight came round and would bellow Richard's name like a man possessed for 10-15 seconds then straight back to the bar without watching the actual race. Wild Wayne leading the war cry's, Bill Barker who should have been on the stage doing comedy wandering round selling raffle tickets, whilst asking if anyone had seen Malcolm Simmonds, Bills winter talk in's were comedy gold. The racing when Loram and Henka were involved was out of this world in those days, Henka in my opinion was a more naturally talented/better rider than T Rick when they both first came over but I guess Tony had that extra 5% of grit/determination that led to six world titles, but I've always thought for natural talent Henka and Ward are the best two riders I have ever seen on a bike. Fantastic times I would be back there again in a heartbeat.

The rule covering the 2 minute warning has been specifically changed to say that riders must be ready to race within the time limit. 2. We don't have a consistent application of this rule. Did I not see a meeting report recently where 2 riders were disqualified in heat 15 for not being ready? And then clearly, on TV, we see riders pulling up to the tapes after the time clock has reached zero. 3. If riders arrive at the tapes with 30 seconds on the clock, they garden for 20 seconds and then settle to race. If they arrive with 1 minute and 45 seconds on the clock, they garden for a minute and a half. I know it's a bit more technology but can't we have a maximum of 30 seconds once all four riders have entered the "starting zone"? 4. Perhaps when the starting marshal calls riders to the tapes, they should be obliged to comply and not completely ignore him. We could ban all gardening I suppose. Maybe not, eh? We should count ourselves lucky that King's Lynn have actually got a clock... it's taken them a couple of years to get one on the centre, all they've got to do now is learn how to use the thing, I know time runs differently in Norfolk 😁😜 1
foreverblue
Very surprised how poor Harris was last night, I know he doesn't gate but looked off the pace and looking down at his bike in a couple of races.

We've had this with Bomber occasionally this year, he's generally been excellent but once or twice he's had no speed and been way off it. His bike set ups are obviously quite specific and if its not quite right he goes from hare to tortoise.

In a chat on BSN they asked had he changed anything, and he said "sprockets, jets, everything". It's surprising how such an experienced rider and his support team could get it so wrong ...

It beats me why broadcasters continue to ask this question, if they ever did get a meaningful technical answer it wouldn't mean anything to anybody other than a Speedway rider 🤷♂️

I do not know how he could get it so wrong.

The thing that wasn't changed was the rider 😀 Can't always be out front and he's had a 6 point average for a few years for a reason.

FishersGate
Scotty in for Ben Cook doesn't scare me as a Lions fan. Good rider but I still can't see him getting the better of Leicester's top 3. I think this just means Klindt may not do 7 rides.
YeOldPitGate
I know its been said to death a thousand plus times but yet again credibility shot to bits in that Leicester will most likely go on and win now thanks to the efforts of a lad who doesn't actually ride for either teams starting 1-7.

It'll be more than the #1 and #6 that will be different. Kvech will be #1, so at least the #5 will also change ...
