Do you think you might need your cataracts done? Seriously

You are allowed to be honest about your club,I'm sure they wont ban you from attending.

I think I know why you didn't see much dust, you must have had your blinkers on of course.

Believe me, I'm brutally honest about my club, but if you think last night was so dusty you couldn't see half the racing from lap 1 to heat 15, I genuinely think you might have something wrong with your eyes 👀. Please, get them checked out.

Cataracts can effect your eyesight making everything seem cloudy.

It didn't look dusty on the TV. Sure there was dry stuff coming off the wheels, but it didn't show up as clouds drifting over the terraces - not the way it has at, e.g. Birmingham and even Oxford.

Out of interest, is there not a set minimum brightness level required from the stadium floodlights that is measured at different points on the track, to maintain safety levels in speedway like most other professional sports have?

Who decides if it is 'ok' if this isn't in place?!

Yes there are minimum LUX levels of light that Sky/TNT have specified and in fact that is why Leicester upgraded to new LED lights a couple of seasons ago and then repositioned some last winter .

Speedway wise all referees have to put on report about track  lighting along with air fence state and white line. Problem being is lighting is so expensive now with I believe quotes of 20k to just fill in gaps

Maybe it'd be cheaper to readjust the posts that they are positioned on to get them closer to the track?

When on the strack the light is even all the way around and the riders do not complain about it.

Having just watched this back on BSN it does appear that when the cameras are close to the action (riders perspective) the lights are more than adequate... but when the cameras show the action from the other end of the track (fans perspective) then the lights are far from adequate for a modern lighting system.

I was on bend 2 at the front so I didn't have anybody in my view, well that was until that rude lady pushed in.And my view is totally different to yours, because I have never seen that amount of dust at any track before.I have seen plenty of dust at tracks but not every race as those tracks were constantly watered to keep the dust down as much as possible. There was definitely too much dust there last night no matter how much you defend it.

Clearly you do need your eyes checking because we had exactly the same view then because I was a also on bend 2 & managed to watch all 4 laps of every race with no problem at all.

It’s appearing to me you are trying to find a negative from last nights meeting but to be honest .

People are just laughing at you when you say you couldn’t watch the racing because of the dust you are just making yourself look a fool everyone in the stadium & watching on BSN can see there was nowhere near enough dust to impact viewing the whole track.

@IainB is also the first person to criticise the club when he feels appropriate so to say he is a positive happy clapper of the club is very wide of the mark .

Think you will find i said half the racing. And yes it was the dustiest I have seen for many, many years. My clothes, car, shower backed that up.And no i dont need my eyes checking as I do have tests every 2 years, and just recently had them done(June). Thanks for the concern.I take you couldn't see the colour of that dog laying down then, considering he had people around him he managed to be a different colour at the end.Even my socks managed to be a horrible brown colour.

As I’ve said on previous posts lights are simply not adequate for spectator entertainment those who disagree must be blind. Stand on 3rd bend and starts of races are so dark. No money in the sport etc but spectators need to see the sport they pay to see. Put 8 lights on the advertising boatd across start line 2 each gate front and back will make huge difference not difficult and get more lighting closer to the track….?

My memory isn't what it once was but I think that when the City Council granted planning permission for the track they decided what the lighting levels should be. Despite there being no residential property near the track. Those involved at the time will no doubt correct me if I am wrong.

Actually there was quite a detailed lighting plan for the King Power which resulted in none of the pitch floodlights being higher than the internal dimensions of the stadium.
This reduced the volume of light pollution to an acceptable level thus conforming with laws applicable to the protection of wildlife including the local Bat population.
