Just caught up with this and what a great advert for grass roots British Speedway! 13 committed lads, great racing, a close scoreline for theĀ  aggregate bonus point, incident and controversy. The Plymouth track has taken some stick in the past but it was spot on tonight.Ā

Absolutely put the tripe served up in Latvia in the GP to shame in comparison.Ā

The commentator mentioned it, the word of the night was commitment and without wishing to labour the point, tonight's match showed that Plymouth and British Speedway does not need the likes of Nicolai Klindt. It's just a shame that the rules and the spineless SCBĀ  are letting this situation continue with Klindt treating Plymouth like a piece of dirt and a last resort pay day.Ā

That’s why they should let the Premiership sort out all their problems and leave the Championship to get on with it.Forget doubling up just promote young riders too the Championship.British Speedway has too go back to it roots too move forward again,it can’t compete with European Speedway financially.Riders have to make up their mind where they want to earn their money.

While I agree Klindt isn't treating Plymouth well, are they not just as guilty by allowing him to do that by not declaring him as "withholding his services"?

It shouldn't be up to Plymouth to determine whether he's breaking the rules, that's the SCB's job surely, their inconsistency in the application of the rules is staggering at times.Ā

How do you know they haven't?

Because Garry May said they hadn't, something to do with the facility they'd get.Ā

So who really believes that Plymouth weren't aware of Klindt's likely foreign commitments when they signed him after he touted his availability around several ChampionshipĀ

Not as many that think the Poole start marshall is a cheat.Ā

But it's OK for Plymouth to cheat the public??

Plymouth are dammed If they do and dammed if they dont. There are not enough number one riders out there so they get one who was not riding in the league and originally was free and able to ride all of the meetings.

Poland come in and chuck a load of money at someone of course they will take it as a rider but why is that Plymouth cheating? If Plymouth were really wanting to gain an advantage surely they would say he is withholding his services and they get to use a rider up to his points as apposed to a reduced points.

Oh and it’s seems Plymouth fans are really enjoying it this year as an FYI crowds seem to be doing really well, the team is full of real triers, the meeting is an event as apposed to just racing, the announcers do a good job of entertaining, kids get involved with races. Theres a lot of good going on at Plymouth and to be honest if they win home meetings I don’t think many really care if it’s with or without klindt (in a nice way to klindt).

I am looking forward to facing Poole this week. Obviously poole have a great team but the way Plymouth have been riding lately with the new team I think it could prove to be some really good meetings.Ā

instead of constantly preaching negativity on this forum why don’t you actually try and big up the sport ?Ā
Ā

sooner rather later the sport will be gone and the amount of negativity and constant swipes at teams on social media and internet will have an effect and it does effect people.Ā

for what it’s worth plymouths been great this year and the paying public will tell you that (a lot who are not on here) as there seems to be a new wave of crowds coming to Plymouth.Ā

From the early days of Mr Bowden to where plymouth are now. It's like chalk and cheese. Yes the current promotion have made a few questionable decisions along the way. But right now Pkymouth speedway is probably in the best place it's been in recent years. Plymouth is hindered by its location (although it's always been here,as far as im aware ) and transport infrastructure.

On a positive note regarding Klindt, with all the guests used, the management are in a good position to see who rides the arena well for next year.

To an extent, they never have.Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Did Johnnie Hoskins' teams win all the time?Ā  Ā Not at all, but they always pulled in big crowds, intent on enjoying the whole entertainment package.

Where speedway has gone awry is preventing clubs from putting on extra fun'n'games (partly to do with H&S) -- and riders unwilling to participate in them

I was down as a comets fan, got to agree crowd levels are a lot better than the same fixture last year, so bigger crowd equals more spending in food/drink outlets, so win win for the promotion, the announcer was good, the mascot interaction with the crowd was good not over the top, and acknowledged the travelling comets fans, some interesting races, if a Plymouth or neutral fan, but not as a comets fanĀ ā˜¹ļøĀ one negative the length of the track grade and interval, it took over 2.5 hours to complete 15 heats of speedway, yesterday heat 14 was re run umpteen times, but 150Ā  minutes to do 15 heats come onĀ Ā ā˜¹ļøĀ  hopefully back to Plymouth next year with the comets
