Technik
I wonder what the riders get paid for the superheat. The points are 4,3,2,0 instead of 3,2,1,0. The points don't count in the overall score. The points are not included in the riders averages. There is no bonus point available. I remember the golden double tactical ride in black & white from a 15M handicap in gate 4. I know some star riders refused to take the ride as it was not to their advantage as should they win it added 6 to the team total but they would only be paid for 3. with added risks of having to pass each rider & excessive wear & tear to machinary they felt a bit put out. szkocjasid
Thought of another flaw with the superheat scoring. Team A vs Team B has 2 draws. Team A at home wins the superheat 7-2. Team B at home (in the second leg) wins the superheat 5-4. So team B gets the bonus point despite scoring less in their superheat win. Plenty of daft regulations golden doubles aka the twit hat, green helmet colours the home team riding with numbers 8-13 then some that are still with us out of control doubling up, guest feats the list goes on. However the super heat does add something, some drama & atmosphere. It’s the one change over the last 30 years that actually adds something positive. But ... why only for a draw? What's wrong with 46-44, 47-43 or 43-47, 44-46 - the losing team has the opportunity to pull back some points in a thrilling end to the meeting. What if some teams never see a drawn match, and others have two, three or four? What's so special? Indeed, if the BSPL likes to have an extra heat, why not have an extra heat anyway?! mikebv
Each match has two points riding on it... Apart from a superheat match... Where there is three... And is it four points available if the 2nd leg ends in a draw as well as the first leg?. ie A superheat for the draw on the night, and a super heat for the aggregate... I have no idea, and cannot be arsed checking, but that would mean two matches scoring seven points, and not five...
SuperStarsFan91
The super heat and aggregate bonus point should be removed in my opinion… a draw should be a draw, 1 point each 👍🏻 match win - 2 points match draw - 1 point each team match loss - 0 points Simple but effective and much easier to understand 😂 Edited 17 hours ago by SuperStarsFan91

Being top of the table and never winning a meeting... The point gained for being within six, for the away team, was dropped, it was said, due to the home teams fans leaving the stadium feeling less than positive that "one point was dropped".... And home victories are, as we know, the main objective to keep a crowd level... Now they can leave feeling that they have lost, after they didn't!!! Typical UK Speedway though... Let's contrive something... Something that didn't need actually fixing too... Maybe spending more time in delivering a fit for purpose operating model, and a joined up, collective, national wide, and innovative, marketing plan would be more beneficial to UK Speedway?
marko
It’s a gimmick made for TV which is what speedway became many years ago. It might add something for the neutral but what about those at the track? You see your team battle to a draw or salvage a point only to then walk away feeling like you lost.
kelvinht
I quite liked what they tried a few seasons ago, but simpler 3 points for a win 2 points for a draw 1 point for losing by 6 of less Same for home and away teams. No bonus points (always helps tracks with bigger home advantage) and no super heats....
