IainB
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker R/R, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson. OXFORD: Charles Wright, Erik Riss R/R, Maciej Janowski, Mitch McDiarmid, Rohan Tungate, Peter Kildemand, Luke Killeen. You may not be able to have your photograph taken with Luke Becker, as he aggravated his injury in Poland yesterday (🐂💩), but you can have your photograph taken with the Knockout Cup before the match... I wonder if anybody has bought any red and yellow ribbons for it 🤔

Given the statement above I'm slightly less critical of him missing tomorrow, as long as that expectation is met, and he's not riding in Poland in the meantime in defiance of the aggravation caused. I'm not so forgiving, he was well enough to take 6 rides in his first meeting back, it's just the same as the rest, this is the new normal now, when riders came back from injury before, they came back everywhere, not just Poland... I'm idioting sick of it! Edited 19 hours ago by IainB

I'm idioting sick of it! Take your point, it shouldn’t take six rides to the decide that the injury is still an issue. At this point if I were the team manager (which I’m not), I’d be gearing up for the continued use of R/R in the play offs. In the meantime, I would look to use guests to see out the regular season to avoid unnecessary pressure on other riders having to take extra rides.
mikebv
Fans complain when riders seem to choose to give meetings a miss over here, however.. Promoters, actually plan meetings in knowing that sometimes exactly the same riders will be elsewhere on that night... The message they give therefore, is that it is obviously acceptable to UK Speedway for you to miss meetings and your presence isn't fundamentally important... Which also then, obviously gives the events themselves the same lack of fundamental importance in the opinions of so many... You cannot blame riders for deciding to stay aligned to their biggest paymaster when the UK version of the sport is ran the way it is...

I think his Polish team have finished their regular season and are out of a play-off position. Hopefully, if the Physio works then Becker will be able to continue his rehabilitation with a few practice sessions at Leicester and thus establish his fitness to race “as and when”

The fitness needed to take (even) six riders in the vast expanse of a 370m+ track it a lot less than a much tighter British track, and lets face it Leicester's track is tight.
