Yes it’s unfortunate to have rain offs right at the death, but it is now September and there’s always the chance the weather takes a turn for the worst. They need to leave a two week gap in future, between the final set of fixtures, and the start of the playoffs offs to allow clubs to rearrange postponed fixtures. I remember when I first starting reading programmes as a kid, and when looking at the fixture list "RESERVED" pretty much filled up October except for the BLRC. . Didn't understand the reasons .. Obviously as you got older, you could see the reasons given the end of October was cut off... 18 teams in the league, plus a full Belle Vue Colts season, up to five KO Cup matches at home a Northern Trophy featuring Sheffield,Halifax and Hull, an annual John Player individual, and the BLRC .. And all done without fixed race nights to help ensure all riders were there, with some riding in the National League as well as the British League for different teams. (Many teams had at least one rider).... Oxford this season have ran 29 home matches... Maybe the last two weeks of September should be play off time, with "RESERVED" being put in for the first two weeks worth of Monday and Thursdays...?

ShanoXtra
If Ipswich win and Leicester lose then who finishes second without this match happening? One point in the balance and Sheffield are solid at home so could easily win this meeting that keeps getting postponed. If that scenario does happen, then the table will be chosen and not competed for on track.

The Witches’ scheduled trip to Sheffield on Wednesday was postponed due to rain, meaning the Suffolk side cannot be caught before the cut-off on Thursday night. It means Ipswich will face a play-off semi-final against champions Belle Vue, starting in Manchester next Monday (September 😎 with the return at Foxhall on Thursday September 11. Witches manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We are confirmed as top for the play-offs. It is great for us to finish top, we haven’t done that for a long while. “It gives us the second leg in the play-offs which everyone likes if we can progress and win it at home, if we can do that. “That is a long way off, we know we have got two very tough meetings against Belle Vue next week who are the reigning champions.” The other play-off semi-final, to be staged in week commencing September 15, will be between Leicester and Sheffield, with the order of legs to be decided by positions in the league table following Thursday’s fixtures. Premiership CEO Phil Morris said: “Sheffield did all they could to stage their match against Ipswich twice in the last week, and it’s very unfortunate that they were beaten by the weather on both occasions. “The play-offs will be proceeding according to the schedule next week. We already knew Belle Vue were finishing fourth, enabling their home match to be allocated for next Monday some time ago, and their opponents are now known as Ipswich will be top on Thursday night regardless of results.”
