Poole v Glasgow, 15/10/25, Glasgow v Poole, 17/10/25 Championship Final

Recommended Posts

Well that was dire to watch. Scorpions may have come bottom of the league, but we have some great racing week in week out.To have a track that is wide  with so many racing lines, is a massive plus for passing and entertainment. I'm not saying I like seeing us bottom of the league, on the contrary, but I go to watch to see good racing and feel I've had value for money.

Anyone on here think that an independent should oversee track prep in these final “showpiece” meetings?

Phil Morris for  example ?

No, tracks can prepare it however they want it. If Poole want it super slick because they know the Glasgow riders will hate it then that is up to them.

Other fans been moaning about the Poole track since 2010, so they probably given up and just do it to what they want. As everyone will moan whatever they do.

And Bomber will moan about any track not set up for his liking, moaned about Kings Lynn track earlier in the season.

Oh, some of us have been moaning about the Poole track a lot longer than that.

So on Friday we are all promised a meeting of 'great racing' at Ashfield! So what will the forumers be saying if Poole come away with the win, again?

That they quite rightly deserve to win the play offs. It's not a criticism of the well balanced Poole team but more an observation that winning is not the be all and end all over the course of a season. Pay £20 expect decent entertainment.

Something has to be done.

Should track preparation be centralised? Should the BSPA employ the track staff, so preparation is done in the interest of a quality product?

Let familiarity be the advantage to the home team, thus allowing both teams to go toe-to-toe.

By the way, one of those colleagues I mentioned from Bournemouth purchased the stream and watched it with his son. Safe to say he won’t be a repeat viewer of speedway.

And Poole put up the price to watch that tonight. I'm only glad It was included in my BSN subscription.

Two passes in fifteen heats, Lisa. One of those was due to Starke having bike difficulties.

Even our 5-1 was utterly boring.

That disgrace of a track is damaging the sport.

Thank God that’s finished.

To summarise: 15 heats, 2 passes. One of which was due to a mechanical problem.

Advantage Poole as they will have a good track to race on come the second leg.

The track was set up for nobodies liking though… Anders Rowe found that out when he was all over the back of both Glasgow riders until he went wide and went backwards.

The track is embarrassing to the sport. Old ‘arry must have been thinking what have I got myself into here after being bored out his mind watching that dross.

Everyone puts the price up for the final. Been happening for years.

Exactly. Thank you for proving my point. Doesn't matter how they prepare it, you'll still moan and whinge about it. So may as well have it how Poole riders want it.

Exactly. He thinks every track should be prepared for him and if it isn't just has a paddy these days. Probably an age thing ( which i can say as born in the same year lol.)

I sure a few Clubs would like too “washed up” as financially as Poole.

One question you have ask is how come the Opposition can’t “Gate and Go” that’s the 3rd time Glasgow have been there this season.🤔🤔

Lost interest in this site a while ago to many negative comments and personal attacks on forum members but tonight just thought I'd give an honest opinion from an unblinkered Poole fan of the Geoff Mudge/Pete Smith era, Poole are far from washed up we win titles fact, we build winning teams fact and riders want to ride at Wimborne Road fact however I'm not blinkered to realise the track tonight and maybe some other nights was not conducive to exciting racing it wasn't and Poole are not going to roll out the red carpet for Harris to enjoy himself no chance so the track was prepared as requested as I assume by the home riders, personally I must admit it wasn't entertaining gate and go isn't however surely it's no secret Wimborne Road is unfortunately this season prepared that way so visiting teams don't need a track walk but just set your bike up to whizz away from the start and bingo but with that being said and all the missiles thrown at Poole they are one meeting away from being champions again by being entertaining all season maybe not especially at home but if Glasgow roll out the red carpet of a track in the second leg then who knows. Poole are successful yes seaside town does help but and you can't argue but some will the Ford's are top promoters end of unless you dislike Poole and many do but that goes with winning just ask man city fans

Even though he lowered Lawson's colours in H13. He didn't really put in a No1's performance tonight did he? He got 5-1 twice, Should have beat cook in heat 15. All in All not a good couple of days for Bomber if you take in he only scored 5pts at Redcar the other night in the semi final of the cup.

Bomber is 3rd best rider in the league with Masters the best rider so without doubt a number 1!

What an awful track, why anyone would pay to watch riders follow each other round that every week I don't know.
