IainB Posted yesterday at 10:18 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:18 AM Just listened to Rob Godfrey in full... Fair play to the host who asked all the right questions (eventually 😉) and also to Godfrey for responding to them. That's all I'm going to say about it really as there was a lot of "there's a lot going on behind the scenes" which I've heard too many times before in this sport only for nothing to materialise. Not filled with confidence when Godfrey couldn't even remember the name of the former MP that has joined SFL and he kept referring to SFL as "them" when he's on the board! Like I've said before Godfrey does a fine job at Scunny but should be nowhere near the top table of Speedway in the UK.

SteveArena Posted yesterday at 10:34 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:34 AM RG was good but him and Lambert's interaction was annyoing blowing smoke up each others backsides when no one else gives a toss.

He doesn't come across as the most professional or polished administrator does he? As you say forgetting names of key people for something which has been going on a fair while is pretty poor. However I'm an optimist (a cautious one seeing as its British Speedway we are talking about) so my glass is half full regarding what could happen in the near future. We shall see.
marko
Good interview and fair play to Rob for agreeing to do it, you could tell he was not very comfortable and that's no doubt because he thinks the speedway fan base is against him. Make no mistake about it he has made decisions before that adversely affected my club when they were around BUT i still want what is best for the sport and i want it to succeed so i want Rob and all involved in the running of it to succeed too. Even if fans don't all agree with the way forward, we all we want the sport to grow.
TB1
A reasonable interview but unfortunately lacking in substance. Now that could be for contractual reasons but who knows. Either way we are all left scratching our heads I feel. Edited 25 minutes ago by TB1
THE DEAN MACHINE
Couple of interesting points said by Godfrey, sport England are there to help - not true don’t want anything to do with speedway and the bspl and speedway futures are here to help any track get up and running - not true don’t reply and when they finally do no help at all (individuals with the sport are helpful)and speedway futures were asked by cradley for a supporting letter signed by Redknapp to help with their dealings with the council- didnt even get a reply and as I stated on an earlier podcast that the consultants that are working with cradley to find a track said they couldn’t believe that cradley had got so far without the help of the governing body whatsoever, that statement alone speaks volumes Edited 5 minutes ago by THE DEAN MACHINE
