Workington 2026

What are Workington fans thoughts on whether Vuolas will return? He seemed to take a real liking to scunny last year so wouldn’t mind him!

Antti is a real frustrating rider, often looks like an out and out Number 1 at Home. But away rode like a reserve most of time and averaged 4.71. Often finished 3rd in 5-1 defeats so I think the 4.71 away average flatters him.

Would be a good signing for Scunny if all they are concerned about is winning at home and getting fans in. As I think they will really struggle away from home anyways with a big chunk of the points limit already used up, so might as well just try and rack 55+ point wins at home and build from there.

Antti was our best heat leader at the GT Tyres arena last season while Batch was our best heat leader away from home.

I would have them both back without doubt, Batch at 5 Antti at 3. However, building a solid team that has a rider or riders who can win the big heats at the back end of the meeting along with a good 3 and 4 who can produce a fair percentage of wins in heat 12 and heat 14 respectively (great example being Zach Cook at Poole) plus having at least one consistently strong reserve is not easy within the constraints of the team building points limit.

Cant see much past this for the Comets.

Klindt 8.36

Hook 5.57

Vuolas 6.87

Tate  5.76

Batch 7.10

Foord 3.69

Perry 2.29

I really like Hook but im not sure there is much improvement on that average whilst Tate will be in demand as he could easily put 2 points on his. Perry also looks problematic to me, not enough physicality about his riding and easily gets out muscled.

In light of Andrew Bain's comments about 'something exciting happening for 2026'! Should this be moved to the Premiership section?

He’s only introducing a new burger van on the third bend for christ’s sake

Great to witness some friendly fun. I’ve got a wicked sense of humour and don’t mind displaying it. I guess not all will see it light heartedly. You will see if you look at my new thread in speedway discussions section

More chance of setting up an alternative to the current structure 😃. Could call it the Bain Ultimatum or something similar after another secret agent 🤣
