Must admit, It's kind of fitting how this years tin pot silverware is going to a tin pot fan base that only turns up when a trophy is on the centre green.

Must be a Mancunian thing I guess considering their recent track record when it comes to local sports clubs.

It’s almost impossible to get someone of the required standard over once the season has started unless you throw completely unrealistic money at someone and even then it isn’t a given! Doyle is the probable only exception. He’s always ridden here, wanted to ride here again this year and waited on Ipswich as long as he could before giving up and making plans elsewhere. 
 

He was always the one likely to come back mid season if/when an opportunity presented itself. He lives here. 
 

The stars aligned nicely for Belle Vue. Mark Lemon was in and around all the GP riders at the NSS for the GP weekend here at the time they were looking for a replacement for Bewley. They asked the question, and got the deal. 
 

A couple of seasons ago when we lost Doyle and then Emil, Louis with total backing of guy Nicholls, threw the kitchen sink at every quality rider to get replacements in. The closest they came was Michelsen who at one stage they thought they’d done a deal for, but he backed out at the eleventh hour. 
 

They’re very lazy shouts from people on here when they come out with “pay the money and get someone over”, they’re living in cloud cuckoo land. Once the season gets underway, it’s almost impossible.

Wasn't it woffy when he first signed for Sheffield say he would have come over sooner but not one team reached out to him. 

 

Promoters make no effort to sign riders. The owners are lazy. Not posts on here

Don’t rope United into city’s problems in filling the emptihad. Still 76,000 turn up at OT despite the dross served up these last few years. As for the speedway you can only beat whats in front of you. Pity the rest of the league has been sub standard so the entertainment is non existent at times.

Exactly. Not our fault that belle vue are the only team that take the league seriously. Others need to up there game big time

This is going to be the issue going forward if ideally the league next year is up to eight where are the five to six extra world class riders going to come from ? given two new teams would both need a top liner and so will Ipswich and Northampton and possibly Sheffield also if Jack Holder doesn't recover from his bad hand injury.

They would potentially come but it will need promoters to offer major dollar from their own pockets or a tv deal of Sky standards that allows six figures to be dangled in the riders faces and that didn't work out well last time when all the number one's left after the Sky trough was empty.

Anyone who knows more than me on how it will all be financed I would love to hear this isn't a dig as would be great if it happens but it looks a huge ask to me.

If that happens I am not sure the Aces will be too unhappy, given the impact to their crowds in the lead up, and just after, the event...

Plus, the huge costs and time put in to organise it ..

The sport itself though would be the main loser given the NSS is clearly one of the best circuits in the world...

Only one set of fans with a real problem here and thats ipswich. Not seen sheffield Leicester, lynn, Northampton fans on here crying. 

 

Ipswich fans think they have a god given right to win everything. This year they failed miserable and they cant handle it. Will be same again next season with penny pincher Coleman. And you can screen shot this

No idea on the circumstances around that time. Was anyone actively looking for a top heatleader at that time? And if they were, could they afford one? Not every club has the financial muscle to sign a three time world champion. 
 

Louis certainly wasn’t lazy. He was continuously knocked back, but went back to the same riders and was knocked back again. 
 

We’ll agree to disagree here. It’s incredibly lazy for shouts on here to “go and get a world class heatleader” mid-season.

It’s odd that the level of support The Aces get has seen them consistently compete in the highest level of the sport for almost 100 years yet all these other clubs with much better crowds are yo yoing between leagues due to financial constraints. 

Truth and opinion can be easily distinguished when doing a cursory fact check of the situation. 

As an aside, I’ve said many times that no club can currently crow about their crowds as we are all woeful. Petty biased points scoring is ridiculous given the state of our sport currently.

Well, seeing as the cat is out of the bag I’ll give my opinion. For Belle Vue it is a financial gain as looking at figures of the last few season we have taken a big hit to domestic takings, despite the team success on track.
For speedway as a whole it’s a big miss as to not have the worlds best compete on the world best circuit isn’t good. More should have been done to make the finances work with these big events, especially if it means they can take place at the NSS. 

For me, is a good few hundred quid moving from speedway to music for next year.
