Ipswich Witches 2026

In order what would be everyone's preference be when it comes to a No.1 between Kurtz, Lambert, Lindgren and Woffinden?

Mine would be 1. Lindgren, 2. Lambert, 3. Woffinden and 4. Kurtz.

Around Foxhall, I think Lindgren would be the most consistent and Kurtz would be the most inconsistent.

Lambert/Woffinden/Becker/Rew will not start the season in the UK.

Becker not available anyway as he has already signed to ride in three countries.

Where has the one rider over 8 points come from? It can’t be introduced at this stage of a (admittedly ridiculous) pre-season. Now if there was a sudden ‘one ginger’ per team rule introduced, that would be more in line with British speedway credibility and explain why Kurtz hasn’t been named by the Aces.

Perhaps it was created as a rule to be applied in the event of a six-team league actually happening? So in which case Belle Vue could have team A and team B, hedging their options?

Mayfield have already cut the GP prize money so much that 5th this year is worth less than 13th was last year....

How much will the gp boys be getting from prize money this year ?

I got the impression it was never massive money and the main plus to being in the gp was it helped get better personal sponsors, I never remember it being a major earner other than when Andreas Jonson won that race that was worth was it $100,000 dollars ?

Yes we just need the bspl to remember they have a fan base/customers and to stop stringing us along to a point of folk have lost interest and all will be well in the sport 🙄

They are not doing that. Jason mentioned how long it takes to complete the paperwork.

Didn't Charles Wright pick up around £8k for his 2 GP appearances last year?

Oh. Ipswich and Northampton to be this years Birmingham and Oxford then 🤦🏼‍♂️

I think they will make last years Brum and Oxford look like Cradley 1984 and Ipswich 1998 hopefully a half decent side can be put together for both as not doing anyone any favours if they get destroyed every week but does make you wonder where a couple of top level riders for both will come from assuming Kurtz is staying at Belle Vue.

That doesn't sound to bad for an afternoons work if in the UK guess not so good if having to fly all the equipment out abroad assuming GP organizer doesn't cover that cost.

That’s about what’s most of them are worth. The main men earn their money in Poland. The Prestige and Sponsorship Deals is their main aim in GPs

Brady Kurtz earned more than BZ last year in the GP's.....

€132,750 to €128,250..

MJJ says in the Speedway Star that the GP's are less about financial return, but more about being able to gain better deals in Poland, as your standing grows, and more sponsors also come on board if you are doing well in the GP's..

Breaking even "needs luck" given riders have to pay all their own costs..

I thought someone said the rates had dropped I'm assuming the bottom chart is 2026 so the rates have actually gone up ?

There's a typo in 9th place on the Mayfield Sports chart as it still shows 6,500 Euros rather than the new reduced amount.

But in all the other positions you can see that the Mayfield Sports pay table shows reductions from the previous Warner Brother Discovery pay table.

The charts are in wrong order !

Look at the paragraph of text immediately above the figures, as confirmed in today's Speedway Star Magazine
