However maybe the locals won't be aware of the situation & turn up anyway, plus most clubs usually get big crowds for their opening nights. Hey... that's the Knock-Out Cup for you 😂 Welcome to Speedway 👍 Edited April 24 by IainB

Welcome to the weird world of British speedway, people of Northamptonshire. Your new team has already been pre-knocked out of a competition before you start seeing them in action. Its a new trend. Chelsea FC now has a policy of pre-sacking its managers before they start
TB1
How do they 'nominate' or 'select' the riders for track testing on Tuesday? Do they pull names out of a hat or may pin the tail on the donkey. More importantly what happens if the said 4 riders say the track is crap?

old bob at herne bay
Always said that th metal I beams that protrude around the outer perimeter were a major issue. Yet to see a photo of anything resembling a safe speedway track emerging . Good hot dog stall . Without those beams, a riding test of the track would have been possible as Lakeside ran for many seasons with white sticks marking the outer boudary of the track. Picked up a copy of Speedway Star from Sainsburys this week . Occasionally grab a copy when I see something of note , and the reopening of the Brafield Foxes speedway gained my interest. Interested to see that he track operated as a training facilty . With so little time before the opening night, I beams still to be cut off and no air fence yet delivered, you can see a delay occurring. However, and fingers crossed it does, it looks like you could build a lot of speed down the straights.

They support the top rope for the stock cars and are an essential part of the safety fence. They have the same thing at Kings Lynn so why would they need to be removed at Northampton ? Sir Sidney
Surely to goodness Northampton have already had a conversation with SCB and it's track inspector about what is required to get a licence and what they need to have in place before his visit. Tuesday should just be a check to make sure it has been done. I would also be amazed if someone hasn't already ridden a bike around there to test that there are no hidden horrors in the surface. I cannot believe that this has all been left to chance on Tuesday

I cannot believe that this has all been left to chance on Tuesday I would be very surprised if anybody has ridden the track as yet ,si.ply because the steel posts aren't covered , I would imagine they will need a similar arrangement as mildenhall ,with a foam hat over them before anyone is allowed to ride the track

Wasn't Arena the only track where you got excluded for leaving it? And does anyone have any videos of it with no fence as I couldn't find one on you tube? I know when I first went there in 89 the mighty Rob Tilbury cleaned up with 15.

It’s not often he gets to ride other tracks while not representing his own team .
