Cook will end up there, one of if only to get the full house of Premiership clubs ridden for!  If he does and rides to his ability he’s a good signing on circa 5.4 average, but there’s always the risk of his going missing for periods of the season as has been seen before.

He can’t keep using the sport as a part time venture in the season it runs. He’s got plenty of time in the closed season to do what he needs to do

100%!  He’s not a rider I’ve ever taken too and from the off season shenanigans everyone’s heard he ‘allegedly’ partakes in he can’t bring that into an already dangerous sport

To be honest to me he seems very immature for a fully fledged adult.

Jeppesen wouldnt be a bad fit

Deffo the best of what's available who are prepared to ride here, if they can somehow keep the crowds around the 1k-1.5k level it would be worth trying to push out back end of the season for a decent rider like Lindgren or similar when Poland finish's season.

So got to wait until everyone’s finished abroad to fill in at the end of season. GB speedway reminds me of a patchwork quilt.

It's all so typically British Speedway isn't it, companies house shows 1 shareholder, Mark Lemon, holding 1 share valued at £1... Then there's the 2 co-promoters Tony Gaul & Paul Hunsdon (previously named as a Director at Birmingham, as was David Rowe for a short period interestingly) seemingly with no limited liability... and we have people like Jan Staechmann saying things like "they're the ones we can talk about" on BSN.

Why so cloak and dagger? What could possibly be worse than the CEO and team manager of another team being the sole shareholder of another club?

Being a Director doesn't necessarily mean that person is a shareholder.

When i looked at Companies House info a few weeks ago, Lemon was the only named director.

But does the CH info disclose shareholders? Not to my knowledge, but you could have access to greater depth info??

I tend to think that shareholder identities are usually hidden information, a private matter unless disclosed by the shareholder publicly?

Yes it does, and he's the only one with 1 share at £1.

Incorporation statement... it may of course have changed since.

I was a Director at Birmingham for a brief period as part of the new consortium which took over for the 2022 season, and my involvement was mainly centred around helping ensure they were in a position to run that year, because there was a huge amount of work to be done that winter for them to get to that stage. My resignation was due to a significant change in work circumstances in April 2022 which, in my view, meant there could have been a perceived conflict of interest had I remained directly associated with one club at a Director level, although there was no pressure applied from any direction before I took that decision.
