Sheffield v Leicester- 25th June

Recommended Posts

This is going to be a tough one for all the riders involved, will be in excess of 30° during the meeting, lord knows how much hotter in the pits and in their kevlars!

Imagine Sheffield will go down the R/R route for Jack Holder as with only Northampton and King’s Lynn not riding only really Chris Harris as an option.  You’d think Chris Holder, Pickering, Flint and Rowe could get maybe 7-10 from 4 rides not sure if Harris would get that from number 1.

Did I hear right on BSN last night that Dan Thompson could miss this for Leicester of Lodz decide to use him for their Ekstraliga 2 meeting that clashes (practising today to decide squad)? If he ends up in Poland that would be a big loss for Leicester as looked on fire last night and had good meetings around Sheffield too, would they go guest or R/R?  Can see Howarth again being a busy man down at number 6 maybe getting a ride or two extra from  likes of Kemp, Morris or Joe Thompson

Just due to Jack Holder being a consistent big scorer around Sheffield and R/R or guest not covering adequately I think Leicester will come away with the away win 41-49

SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder R/R, Anders Rowe, Chris Holder, Leon Flint, Josh Pickering, Jye Etheridge, Luke Killeen.

LEICESTER: Ryan Douglas, Drew Kemp, Nick Morris, Dan Thompson R/R, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth, Joe Thompson.

DT confirmed as giving the Lions a miss! As will I 👎🏻

What a tin pot sport it has become in this country, I'll save myself a packet and catch some z's watching Ippo on BSN 😴

Dan Thompson no rides, no points for Wuj... that was all very worthwhile wasn't it 🤷‍♂️

What a 'kin joke!

Bin him off... if he wants to not ride in Poland let him, get Ryan Ingram in the team.

They need too tell these riders who want to go to Poland and sit in the pits earning money to make up their mind.Rather see a junior rider at least getting a chance.

I can understand the frustration, Edinburgh fans have experienced it to, but replacing a 6 point Prem rider with a 4 point Champ rider is not the answer.

Now if Leicester said they'd prefer Lewis Kerr because he'd be available every match, that would be understandable.

The right answer depends on what the question is. If it's to sign someone who'll turn up every week then it is absolutely the right answer.

It's a shame as I rate Dan Thompson, but what a sad state of affairs that he's sat in the pits without even getting a ride while his 'other' club, in his home country, are left without him. Another one where you'd never see a Pole in the same situation.

Not only left without him but also losing and losing the bonus point... It really cannot be taken seriously as a sport while things like this continue to happen and are happening more frequently... but then we all know that already

Hardly one for the future Lewis Kerr... get these kids in, and when they lured by Poland, wave them goodbye I'm afraid

Quite agree.

At least they used R/R and didn't borrow a rival's rider I guess.

Personally, I wouldn't allow any facility only the promotion of an affiliated junior

Lions throwing Kyle Howarth under the bus on the website this morning... at least he turned up!

"what wasn’t anticipated was a night of disaster for vice-captain Kyle Howarth, for so long a Sheffield rider."

"Howarth was expected to be a trump card at reserve but everything went wrong for him as he failed to score from four rides"

“Kyle had a few years here and he had a rough night with a crash too"

In response, Kyle said "I wish I could have been sat in the pits at a track in Poland, watching the racing for nothing, and actually being paid for being there".....

"I'll see if I can get myself a piece of that next time", he continued...

:D

How is it 'Throwing him under a bus?' It's not unreasonable to expect a couple of points from him whilst riding at Reserve.
