Yep plenty of things from years gone by in the firing line I read a good article on pubs over the weekend , roughly two a day closing in the UK. The writer interviewed a fella who took over a popular pub in his area (Lake District) that had closed pre-covid he took over reigns in 2021 said when he started gas and electric £1,500 was per month he chucked keys in mid 2025 and gas and electric then £3,500 per month. Add in the plus wage going up, employer ni threshold cut , cost of living meaning more people just having a pint and no food or staying at home as the ex landlord said "covid got us all into the mindset of staying at home more". One of my richest friends owns a pub locally turns over a million a year but still loses money, luckily he can use the old trick of offsetting the losses against his other business which is an absolute cash cow.

If Ipswich decide to dispense with Lawson's services, would they be eligible for a facility? There's something in the Regs about a rider in dispute with their club, but not (as far as I can see) about a club releasing a rider ... It’s the late arrivals missing track walks and parades. Not going for victory laps when asked. Dirty bikes and twice just not turning up giving very little notice. Michael lee was more reliable.

Michael Lee had the class on the track to help in forgiving any misdemeanours. Lawson obviously can’t be ars*d in better company. As Poole fans are quick to say , he’s not a problem for them . But then he wouldn’t be with the mediocrity he races against in that competition.

By 'mediocrity' do you mean most of the riders who ride in both leagues?

The other 5 teams in the premiership have around 3 riders who don’t double up and more than hold their own over in Poland. That’s what I mean. The championship on the other hand , different story

If Lawson races against these two riders in separate races , that’s half his programmed rides for the meeting against higher than championship opposition. That’s all I’m trying to say . Big fish in a small pond in the championship. Edited 11 hours ago by Phannan

Thinking about it most if not all of the others have upped theirs. He started on 9.58, and has so far averaged just 8.10 so far this season. Could be he is around 40 now though, and on the slide. That's harsh on Lawson as a Lynn supporter back in the day Lee was truly terrible for reliability.

And a much bigger name, meaning many of the crowd would have turned up specifically because he was (supposed to be) there... Arriving a bit late, with bikes not spotlessly clean, isn't anywhere near the level of Michael Lee in his heyday of absences...
