Personally imo if riders put Poland and another league or two before the UK which i can understand from a riders perspective as Zloty rules. But if they are dropped by their team or not getting many starts they shouldn't be allowed back to ride in the UK for the season. We can't be seen as a soft touch. Some of those may already be thinking if i get dropped by my overseas team i will always get a spot back in the UK.Don't let them take the mick.

Promoting the young Brits in both leagues is a great move forward. 2021 is the first step forward after the grim reeper saw off 2020. Hopefully ,this is a new start where British Speedway is run for the benefit of the Sport as opposed to promoters looking after their own individual needs. Having Eurosport on board is another boost for Speedway... in particular Speedway on Quest for a broader section of the public to watch Speedway on the TV. Cautious optimism as far as I am concerned

Potentially add a condition where nobody over an average of 6 or something can be included. This then begs the next question, what happens this year if say Drew Kemp rides at reserve and averages 7+? Is he just going to hung out to dry mid season like Boxall and Armstrong were when this was previously trialled? Something will need to be in place.

Dan Bewley at No7 for Belle Vue a possibility if just U24 designation used I'd say that's why it's more specific and 'regulated'

Nailed on Lynn i think with him opting out of Redcar, this will keep him at the 3 league Polish rule with him doing Sweden too.

PLEASE sign max clegg... if hes eligible... so much deserves it and he came on leaps and bounds in 2019... isn't he a club asset? Or is that edinburgh

Agree with you again Najjer, do you remember "Keep it simple" already long forgotten... What is needed these young guns need to have races v their apposite numbers, have a minimum of rides per meeting & a minimum £ guarantee per meeting. Now (2021) would be a great time to reintroduce second half's - not like the old style riders taking or leaving it BUT an exciting & meaningful addition to the main event, what would be the cost? riders, bikes & everything else already in place & a sponsor to finance the final.

Dan Gilkes is surely ahead of all 4 of those?

I’ve thought about this and I think it’s a classic case of British Speedway over complicating things. Why have all this graded nonsense? Why not just say the no.7 is designated to British U24 riders and have done with it? Teams can pick their riders to suit no matter how good or bad they do, taking the lead from Poland in this respect. The intentions are very good but the execution is just missing in my opinion. Some may argue that could open up a bidding war for the best riders but that is likely to happen even with gradings come next year. The whole grading system just opens up such unneeded debates where teams will try and screw each other over by insisting their riders should be graded lower and opposing riders graded higher... we’ve been here before with that!

Good chance Schlein could be bound for Birmingham.

The likes of Mountain and Rowe would give us one strong reserve.

agree that the PL wouldn't appear to be what it says on the tin. it would appear to exist only to provide enough fixtures for the double up riders. league fixtures alone it's 20 PL and 32 CL one big league is only 34 in total

Someone will be without a team place now anyway. Redcar already had to bin 2 riders, one being a young Brit so the new rule really done wonders there.

About 20 years too late, but, better late than never... At last it appears that those who have routinely year on year helped reduce the sport to an almost irrelevance at domestic league level by using such a ludicrous operating model and business plan, have either been outnumbered and have no choice but to lump it, or have finally seen the hand in front of their face reality that whatever they did to help their own team win a title, it made zero impact to the sports long term success, as basically, it mattered not one jot to so many given the lack of a credible offer that they provided each week... Getting the GB team successful consistently has to be the overriding priority of the BSPL, with all three of their leagues providing an end to that means, with hopefully also the assistance of Poland and Sweden in providing places for UK riders deemed sufficiently good enough to get those place offers as they progress.. Teams full of UK lads has to be the target for the sport over here to once again get the publicity it so badly needs, and there really is no better way for a sport to awaken the public's consciousness towards it than bringing national success into their homes via the TV and media regularly... Lets hope it's the start of promoters finally bringing some reality to what their roles really are, (which is to grow the sport as a collective), and the end of them feeling that their own team winning any UK speedway title was 'the be all and end all', because it truly isn't... Good luck to all who are giving it go and let's hope any bumps in the road are taken as such and don't get used as an excuse for any abandonment of the scheme.. Who knows, maybe in a few years time the domestic titles in the UK will have credibility due to being ran 'properly' and the teams that win the comps gain some 'proper' national coverage (and financial rewards), for their endeavours, and it will be all down to having generated interest in the sport through having plenty of British world class riders dominating the sport at the highest level.. It will be a long old road, but the journey has to start somewhere...

So six ‘future stars’ for the top league......Kemp, Rowe, Flint, Palin, Brennan, Bickley?

Apparently Leicester have recalled him to replace Ellis Perks and that's why he's been released by Newcastle

NO. There are greater problems with the bigger clubs snapping up the top riders in each points band. If say there is a band 5 - 6.5 you know the poorer teams will get the 5+ riders, whilst the richer clubs will get the 6+ riders.

But they are, Premier League allowed 3 subs from 9 on the bench, EL five subs from the bench, however this doesnt alter the fact that the BSPL like to put its spoke in the National League wheel, a wheel which it has little idea about how its run and tries to ride rougshod over whenever it doesnt like whats happening, such as not allowing so called ghost teams, a Ghost team will always attract a few more supporters than the Junior team of a senior team, those supporters simply will simply stay away. As an example Wolverhampton rode in the Conference League watched by one man and his dog, they changed the name to Dudley Heathens and we all know what happened then.. If a promotion wants to ride its junior team under a historic name whats the harm it it ?, BSPL answers on a post card please.

This is why our speedway is on its kneees. BSP decides they want to change the rules after they said they wasnt going to change .... I can see why Dmanagement at Glasgow are up in arms . This club is run by people who want thier club to win at all costs a little like Poole did but they cheat ,money isnt a problem for this club because they have good business acuman, and the company they run makes millions so speedway for them is about winning what they didnt check was the due giligence on what is a cartel the BSP , if they had of done they mite have chosed an other sport in Glasgow to waste their money, but they chose speedway and this is where i make my point . These people who run Glasgow can see great opportunities ,well did untill now . So its time for the TEAM at Glasgow to put themselves forward to be chairman of said BSP and turn this sport round before its to late . We need good people to run speedway not like our current chairman Robert Godfry who when questioned by Dmanagement specialist Nigel Pearson in an interview some time back asked GODFRY where did your team finish in the league that season . Our Chairman GODFRY ............. couldnt answer that question , so what chance do we have of him making our sport better . So its time Dmanagement of Glasgow put yourselves forward to take control of our sport please and turnit round .
