    1) the paying public feel short changed (again?) 2) the junior riders miss out and wonder why they bother? 3) the paying public wonder why there was a 25 mins interval between the meetings.

Seems from what I am reading that the chances of Workington coming back are quite bright, so as someone who knows what it is like to lose their club, I wish them and their supporters every possible success.

Probably the opposite to what happens if it's a sunny night, the senior fixture is completed without delay and the junior fixture goes ahead as planned.

Pictures taken very recently. There’s no pits or other buildings because they are not there! Track has been made a lot bigger (when it’s completed ) lots of ongoing work.

Taking the EoES out of it because it was a club decision to remove a working system that had been in place for the best part of 20 seasons for their disabled customers, here's the potential discrimination for you to see: - indirect discrimination - putting rules or arrangements in place that apply to everyone, but that put someone with a protected characteristic (ie disability) at an unfair disadvantage. It has to be said that they are probably legally entitled to do what they've done with good justification (not that I'm sure that it'd be a legal matter anyway?). I doubt that their current explanation would win the day if it ever came to that, which it will not. I remember Jim Lynch threatening to take the EoES to court when Mercer arrived at the EoES as CEO and threw the disabled out. That probably put the rent up a few hundred quid. If the club are happy to take the hit of losing paying customers and resulting poor public relations at this time in particular then more fool them perhaps!

IMO the idea smacks of a quickly drawn up back of a fag packet plan to make up for the balls-up of telling the NL how to run their businesses

I have no idea what anyone else has seen or said, I'm just quoting what Alun R said in an interview that it isnt supposed to start until the summer so we shouldnt be surprised if theres no change at this point. As a lifelong Reading fan I'm very cynical towards anything Stadia UK say, but I guess we'll see in the summer...

From Flemming's website (courtesy of Google Translate The Dane Flemming Graversen, currently one of the most sought-after tuners in the speedway scene, is now coming onto the market with an in-house design: a DOHC cylinder head for the short-stroke GM engine. The aim of this new design was to achieve a higher torque in the lower speed range in order to improve the acceleration after the start. Therefore, the maximum speed is only 11,000 rpm. but an increase in performance between 2 and 3 hp compared to the series was achieved. The camshafts are driven by 2 chains, whereby the chain coming from the crankshaft drives the inlet camshaft and a second chain then branches off to the exhaust camshaft. The camshafts are mounted on one side in needle bearings and on the other side in ball bearings, which keeps friction losses low. By using light metal materials with very low weight and machining with the latest CNC milling technology, the weight of the The complete engine, as offered by Graversen, weighs 27.2 kg, only about 1.2 kg more than the production GM. As is usual with four-valve engines, the spark plug is placed exactly in the middle of the combustion chamber. The inlet valves have a plate diameter of 34 mm and a shaft diameter of 5 mm. The plate diameter of the outlet valves is 33 mm and the shaft diameter is also 5 mm. The valves face the combustion chamber at an angle of 22 °. So he has built a completely different cylinder head (double overhead camshaft ) completely changing the characteristics of the original GM, but re uses the the GM "bottom end" ? Lots of tuners have done his in the past ... adding new top ends to existing bottom ends. So don't see an issue. Sounds like GM need to step up and offer thier own dohc motor ?

needs a good pits staff to get things moving along and known times for track grading and intervals. At Birmingham we achieved that and ran a slick presentation , had 10 min interval time for the kids to come out and have activities , ran MSDL 6 heats plus 125cc demos after heat 2, 4 and 6 and even had time for practice if we finished before the 10pm curfew . Just needs organisation and the right people in the jobs .

Is the completion date referring to housing or the stadium?

I don't see why Workington Comets couldn't operate out of a new venue. It's the ownership name that wouldn't (possibly) be allowed to operate. The team name has nothing to do with ownership.

A threat to what ??? They have imposed rules on the NDL as they can do ( “ in the best interests of the sport “) , what the heck was it threatening ? Other than pretending it was a professional league and paying wages way above a sustainable level but that was upto them , it wasn’t and isn’t threatening any thing !

And a load of track grading or long pauses between re runs. All the usual garbage which people are fed up with.

I am that person that had the E Mail which was unequivocal that this was not down to the EOES( I still have the E Mail). At the time Peterborough was run by a triumvirate of Buster, Colin Pratt and Carl Johnson. I do not necessarily think the instigator was Buster. As a matter of interest last time I went to KL there were no designated Disabled Spaces but the did try to direct BB holders to a small area near the ticket office. However the entire KL car park is nearer to the Arena than even the existing arrangements at EOES.

As far as I'm aware, GM engines have always come in kit form, then assembled to the riders / tuners own specification, not always using GM standard parts.

Robert Lambert,Erik Riss and MPT replaced by Ryan Kinsley,Bridger and possibly Lawson. Makes you realise how much the league has had to be watered down.I still think that if such a watering down of the league was necessary, it should have been 1 league and 6 man teams to at least try to maintain interest/ sell the concept of a new start .
