GS550 449 Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) We all know doubling up has ruined this season , but this meeting brings it to a head what a nonsense it is . We have Lawson , Bewley and Smith missing and away riding for other teams , instead of us , on Friday and two of those riders are actually assets of our club . I love speedway , I love watching two evenly matched sides on a well prepared track doing battle . There's no more thrilling sight in sport than four riders , inches apart , vying for the lead in a race at speed . But this season has seriously diminished my enjoyment of the sport . Rain and injuries are things we can't do much about , but going into a quarter final cup tie with four guests and rider replacement is pretty much as low as it can get . The promotion wont thank me for saying this , but the best thing that can happen on Friday is that it pours from the heavens all day and spares us from this farce . I never thought i'd ever say this , but I can't wait for this season to end . Well said and says what many of us are feeling. The scheduling and particularly the inability to sign replacements falls at the BSPA 's door though. cityrebel 2,960 Posted October 6, 2017 The way I see it is, the play offs take priority over all other meetings. Last Friday's premier play off got the nod over the NL version at lakeside. Tonight's NL second leg takes priority over the KOC. Ben hopwood is riding for Kent at eastie tomorrow instead of Newcastle. I can't see any other reason for the NL getting first call on the riders.
