Workington v Glasgow 23/06/18 7:00pm

2 ahead to 7 behind!! Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory again. We won't make the play-offs this year and my big fear is that our new manager won't have the contacts and experience to attract the kind of riders we need to join us next year, willing to travel north of the border, to replace the underperforming chokers in this team. Time to go cap in hand to SD and plead for his return?

Can’t see that being an issue when SD didn’t hand pick this years team.

Pretty much spot on, couple of weeks break now let the management take stock and see were we go from here.

They will be as hacked off as the fans are at the performances from some.

At least there seems a bit of fight about them tonight. Same old result though. Wonder if some know that was their last ride tonight, they as well as us can see we need freshened.

Said that when SD left, now ringing true. Money wont conquer all as we know.

He clearly had more of an influence than the owners gave him credit for. Though you can see from the owners point of view that in the three seasons SD picked the team we actually moved further away from winning the league, so its a fair shout for the owners to pick their own team this season. Its their money after all which helps us outperform our crowd size, though they have got the structure and some of the riders oh so wrong.

Add to this the track changes and the move to bring in an Assistant Manager were all designed to dilute SD's remit and influence. I dont see them going back or even contemplating it.

Sarjeant winning heat 2 will have someone spitting feathers on here!

Poor Jenga has waited weeks for speedway at Derwent Park and then sees Sarj beat Mason the Marvel

May have missed a couple of heats with the tears welling up

At least it all turned out OK in the end :t:

Good nites speedway, some close fast and hard but not ott riding, and a dead heat, not seen one at a meeting I've been at in 48 years, and some handbags as well, good result for the comets, but sounds like bspa don't want us to ride to the agreed fixture list, for some reason !!

think riders from both teams worked hard tonight

all riders looked like they wanted to race and win

even making the track as dusty as Glasgow has been reported to be recently couldn't help them win

all joking aside some proper racing tonight

few riders getting upset with others after hard moves which most were hard but fair

looking at some of the Glasgow riders reactions after races id say there under a bit of pressure from promotion to start performing

Well what a night ..fantastic from all our boys , that score flattered Glsgow ,desperate moves from Harris on Mason and again Vissing trying fence Ty in 15  The Tigers went home empty handed and rightly so . Harris thinks he’s better than he is . 3 points in the bag on our first Home league meeting and thank god , not to have to race these lot again ! Sarjeant won heat 2 then never again !:approve:

Well done Boys each and everyone

only thing id change to that was we actually though ty got wrong rider we thought it was worrel that almost fenced ty

and which way Ritchie went up and pulled vising away suggests he might have known that also Ritchie was limping after ht 15 maybe they got closer than we thought
