It's no surprise but the Poles are abusing the Covid-19 crisis to flex their muscles. Decent of them. There's also a headline claiming Poland is ready to fight the FIM. Unfortunately that story is on video so out of range of Google Translate. They are getting ready to tell the players: you want to go in Poland, forget about another league In PZM there is a growing group of supporters of options - one player, one league. Who knows if from the 2022 season the rule will not come into force that speedway riders wanting to compete in Poland will have to commit that they will not go in any other league. It's all getting very messy. Money talks. Can only think this kind of thing is inevitable.. And the extra ace up their sleeve may now be this... They now know riders will ride for 50% less than they did so what's to stop them saying that next year "you ride over here exclusively and we will give you 100% money".. Effecively a 100% pay rise... Riders will have to choose. The option of jetting across Europe is disappearing over the horizon. Less money in Poland and ride there and nowhere else looks like becoming the 'deal'. Britain will not need to worry about the riders who go Polish. GB should ride on the night it suits the club...Monday and Thursday is not the night in many cases (exceptions noted).

Rather than be at the mercy of PZM's bulying both have to accept that it is not possible to use riders who race in the Polish Leagues and resource their leagues from those who don't. Already the needs of Poland, and BSI have crippled British speedway. It can only get worse. It's time to rebuild employing riders who will be allowed to race freely here. Let the Poles do their thing, even if it means having to say goodbye to some of our own riders. We cannot go on this way. Poland isn't going to change as long as the money's flowing in. We have to. Riders do not have the other leagues to pay in 2020 but in 2021 they could be back. It would be hard to a rider to have onbly 4 rides each week and remain in top form. A few bad meetings and the pay scale goes very wrong.

The UK based riders could still earn some extra money by riding in the Swedish or Danish leagues (equally affected by the Polish demands of one rider one club) and would be more than welcome to race speedway and long-track here in Germany, as did nearly all of the top British League speedway riders back in the 1970s and '80s. Some co-operation between the UK, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, would strenghten our position against the Polish threat.

Bavarian 766 Posted May 23, 2020 At the moment, yes, but not for very much longer. German borders will be re-opened again in mid-June.

As far as I know here, you have to be out of the country 73 hours, before you have to go into quarantine. So a quick trip to another country would be ok Edited May 23, 2020 by iris123

Personally I would like to see the government state now whether or not it intends for spectator events to recommence on 1 August. That would give the BSPA a chance to plan for a three month season. No way the Government can say what can happen in August without knowing the R rate in July. Its vital.
