Unfortunately Tom has not scored very much at all so far. Presumably he himself felt that there wasn't much chance of an improvement in the short term, hence the retirement. I have no idea who we can get as a replacement, but we cant expect him to be any better than Tom or we would have signed him in the first place !

The fortunate element is that Tom was a 4* rider so you can basically take your pick of who's available, the down side is that many available already have two leagues on the go so would have to drop a NDL spot which if all honesty looks a little more certain at present especially with CVS's announcement.

From the 4*s Bickley & Greaves would have to drop NDL and both double up for the same club. Shanes is available but isn't in shining form. 3* Flint is the form man but again would have to drop a league so realistically Hume, Bowtell or maybe Knight if he fancies a step up.  Hume is probably the best bet but as much as i like him i don't think he offers what Bacon did.

Thanks for the assessment. :t:

No problem. Im sure there are several others that you would happily turn your nose at also and they may quite likely do the same in return to the prospect of signing for Wolves. Mid season cannon fodder for set points and limited to 3 rides a night for a team that is unclear how much longer it can viably run isn't the most tempting of carrots for all but those who don't mind taking a chance and hoping for the best.

It's a shame Woffinden doesn't offer to ride for Wolves. Would be a huge boost to the club and help draw fans in.

Too many riders forget their roots when Polish money starts talking.

Good suggestion seeing as they are on restricted numbers and aren't allowed to let anyone else in and can't even afford to run with the team they've got at the moment.

It doesn't matter if they persuaded Bartoz Szmarslik to come over. If Wolves have a set amount of people allowed in it not going to do anything.
And untill regulations relax which they will not on the 21 st . Your pretty stuffed.

18,000 at the cricket in Birmingham and no sign of social distancing or face masks

Everyone in attendance will need to present proof of a negative lateral flow Covid test on entrance to Edgbaston. They will also have to do a home PCR test – provided free of charge – after the match. Given the various conditions fans have had to consent to, Cain and his colleagues have been fielding around 1,000 emails a day in the run-up to the Test match.

Cant see very much, if any speedway anywhere after Mondays announcement that will we will have to wait at least 4 weeks before they decide to bring us out of this government enforced lockdown

it wont just be speedway that suffers however, all the pubs, restaurants and hotels will have bought supplies already, and these supplies will go to waste which will finish a lot of businesses

Why everyone needs to unite and stick two fingers up to BoJo and the other clowns that run this country.

Restrictions won't be lifted until 2024. 4 week delay will then become another 4 followed by a full lockdown over the winter.

Good point about most of them having 2 teams already. Wether any of them could be tempted to ‘drop’ NDL.

Same at Ascot next week. For 'test events' no masks are needed inside the venue but two pcr tests and a lateral flow are needed.

The thing is even if you tried to get more people in the stadium, the council would shut you down and there are people from the council in the stadium at speedway meetings and dog meetings.

What is the purpose of the no three league idea and why can’t it be scrapped? Surely young riders racing as much as they can van only be a good thing and fixture clashes could be worked round.
