For the FIM to run this series without a single Brit is frankly a disgrace, especially when you consider one of the rounds is Cardiff. Be lucky to get a few hundred there to watch it. Why on Earth not seed one Brit? It’s not as though Brennan for example would be tailed off! Some of these guys would never be able to hold down a team berth in the Championship. Obviously we get a WC at Cardiff.

Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted May 27, 2022 Brennan might be wild card but won’t be in the running for the title. FIM should have included one Brit in the series.
Tactical Joker 60 Posted May 27, 2022 (edited) Now live at the track where the sun has come out briefly. Track looks OK considering the rain, just one bloke putting the broom round the inside now. Yes shame no Brits but will be interesting to see the standard of the others. Further news: Just been announced intros at 19.30, first heat 19.40. Quite a bit of blue sky now so more optimistic than at 15.00. At least the music is good, usually is at Prague. Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted May 27, 2022 There’s a girl wildcard for tonight’s meeting or all three? Really. Seriously. I don’t mean to sound or be sexist though it will come over that way. It’s like an England ladies footballer getting a place in the mens England lineup. She won’t get near a point and has take a berth from a proper competitor. racers and royals 8,723 Posted May 27, 2022 For all of you who think Celina Liebmann has been plucked from the crowd to ride- she scored 6 points in the Daugavpils qualifier and has ridden Polish league div 2. Yes she will be highly tried but she can ride a bike !!

Yes, she can ride a bike, and I even think she will score a point or two tonight, but she is not really good enough to be in this SGP 2 series, considering others like Tom Brennan, Hellstrom-Bangs etc. do not get the chance. Even over here in Germany, no one really understands why she got the wildcard ahead of a much faster Norick Blodorn. It is only because she is a girl.

Money talks But these sort of things aren't new to speedway.....we have the wc previously and given to riders who failed to qualify and people asked why they got in or why there should even be a wc. Should i mention Chris 'bomber' Harris at this point ? Edited May 27, 2022 by iris123
someone 50 Posted May 27, 2022 But when it suits the sport everyone thinks it is okay for riders to be picked over faster ones on the basis of their nationality.
