  1. Past hour
  2. Hopefully will be a better long term ending than when JB sold out to Shears.
  3. No mention of TV or Redknapp and co or what are to be the contributions of those who hold the rights to speedway in the UK or the plans for reviving the sport in the UK. No mention of what was behind the delay in coming up with something that has not really changed the set up from 2025 other than two teams are not competing. It would seem that the opportunity for change which the sport needs was lost post Covid and again they have settled with basically the same old scenario. You really do have to wonder what makes the governing body tick. As to plans beyond 2026, who knows other than the fact that collectively the headless chickens at the BSPL could not run a p.ss up in a brewery. Oh the joy of supporting speedway in the UK. Roll on the Polish season starting and something professional rather than the Mickey Mouse arrangement that prevails on these shores.
  4. Why should he? The rule book states one season only
  5. Underwhelming statement when big changes and ideas where needed rather than go with the same old tired system if one of the 5 teams close mid season the whole league collapses .
  6. The new Ipswich owner has effectively no rider assets - the promoters go to the AGM with the six/seven they intend to start the season with, but then it's down to negotiation, availability, etc.
  7. I’m going to go with a similar scenario to when Berry sold out to shears. A new buyer/ownership group confirmed this week with Louis staying on board in 2026 to assist with running the club before a full hand over prior to 2027
  8. Unless they lose money on the POSF!!! This was my first thought too... One less "proper meeting" for the winners of the league itself? Maybe there is a decent financial prize this year for finishing top?? I am not holding my breath...
  9. I’m going to go with a similar scenario to when Berry sold out to shears. A new buyer/ownership group confirmed this week with Louis staying on board in 2026 to assist with running the club before a full hand over prior to 2027
  10. Having just seen the AGM Statement.I'm glad I dont support the Prem. The decisions made have no real change to last season and dont seem to look forward to the future of Speedway in the coming seasons. They still dont know if a Sixth team will enter the Prem, slight adjustment to the finishing order of the league, and a possible new tournament and it took them 3 months to come up with this drivel for 2026. No 3 or 5 year plan going forward,an absolute shambles of an AGM,just papering over the cracks. New Directors to the Board, what are they going to bring, and this Commitee of an MP and Harry Redknapp, that is absolute bollocks, they have no interest in promoting Speedway in the near future.
  11. Wonder where he’ll potentially end up and who came up with such a rule.Wouldn’t be like Godfrey to make rules up to benefit his own team would it. Guys corrupt him and Garrity are suited.
  12. My guess is there's not going to be one as neither will happen.
  13. A lot of possibles eh . When is the meeting they’d need to turn these into probables
  14. So the same 5 teams that were odds on to start this season, last October, are confirmed. Couldn’t they have told us that news then. That would have at least given us 2 extra months to rip into them for being useless… which they are 🙄
  15. And Zach Wajtknecht? Both haven’t ridden since 2019
  16. The one over 8.00 says a lot for Comets team building purposes, as does the rule about returning British rider reduction of 8% for each year out. Could this mean Zach W returns with a 40% reduction on what his average was. i.e would be about 3.17
  17. This is very true, and if I recall correctly, a precedent was set at poole a few years ago with bjarne pederesen being 8 when the rule was tried in the elite league
  18. I can't think he would do either if he has any sense, I think the chances of a sixth team are near zero unless someone who has money to burn can be found and is happy to take a six figure loss on the chin assuming the other five promoters don't agree to underwrite part of the losses. The issue with that would be the new Ipswich owner has to buy the club with presumably no Emil or Doyle and then underwrite part of the losses also for another track just can't see it. I think it was in hindsight always a fantasy idea to try and throw a bone to the fans of the top league.
  19. Looks like there has been a rule written specifically for Jason Garrity Any british rider returning to the sport gets an 8pc reduction in his average PER YEAR absent
  20. https://ipswichwitches.co/british-speedway-agm-statement-2/ Please find below a press release from British Speedway Promoters Ltd regarding the 2026 season. We hope to provide an official update of our own by the end of the week regarding the sale of the club. We understand supporters have all been waiting for information over the last few weeks and we will bring news as soon as we have it.
  21. Once Louis flogs Ipswich do you think he will use the money to go in at Northampton or use Oxford maybe for a season?
