  1. Past hour
  2. I've heard that this Battye boy is good from behind 😲
  3. that poster has a very odd vendetta against Lambert (and others) for some reason.
  4. i dont think theyve counted Killen at all, there is no guarantee theyre going with a 3 rider. Basically they have 10.80 left for two riders. although it probably will be Pickering and Etheridge (someone else)
  5. It was probably easier to negotiate with Germany than the current bspl
  6. I was watching an episode of ‘World at war’ and up popped Lord Shawcross - he spoke about how the allies were going to deal with Germany at the end of the war. I guess his historic involvement as an independent arbitrator in bringing together the National and Provincial leagues to form the British league in 1965 must have been like a walk in the park!
  7. Sounds like you've counted Killeen as a 3.00, but he's the rising star. The 37 point average is only for the top 6 riders. Killeen doesn't count. The 6th rider (Etheridge or other) has to have a minimum of 3.00. And there's a maximum of 7.80 left for the remaining rider, which is enough for Pickering's 7.76
  8. Great choice. Sharp gater and a big track rider.
  9. Lynn's bottom two have great potential, but I wouldn't say they are better than Gilles just now. Maybe by the end of the season? Whoever Leicester have at 6 (Kemp, Sedgmen, Jeppesen) will be stronger than Castagna. So having a reserve stronger than an opponents second string is a good position to be in. I certainly think it's interesting to see which team building philosophy works out best.
  10. Still a very decent rider especially around the ewr.
  11. Is Etheridge confirmed or is this an assumption?
  12. Today
  13. Jack Holder 9.08 Josh Pickering 7.76 Chris Holder 6.84 Anders Rowe 5.22 Leon Flint 5.06 Jye Etheridge 3.00 Luke Killeen R/S Total 36.96
  14. 12 month ago so many wanted jye out Funny how a season away makes people see the good in a rider that had a poor run of form Dont get me wrong there's plenty on workington forum that didn't want jye back but id have welcomed him back if he was here in 2026
  15. Think he’d do well to maintain his 4 point average. Bit on the wild side at times but should chip in with a few points each meeting. As long as he stays upright.
  16. Pardon my ignorance here, but if I've counted right, they still have two riders to name. If Pickering comes in on 7.76 the sixth rider will have to have an average of no greater than 0.04!
  17. In other more important speedway news, up the man cave where many speedway subjects get discussed but not solved we have got some new teabags and not just the 5000 for 50p catering ones we have previously had, oh no we have Yorkshire tea ones, I personally are beside myself with excitement at this news, this can only enhance the topics debated, which today are wolves, cradley and rider being stabbed in the back by former mechanic (not literally) and any other gossip we have
  18. 100% agree on this and it's about following others. Someone will get a new tuner or designer part and win a couple of races and then the sheep follow. There are so many examples of this: tall seats, magura-type levers, expensive clutch plates, front forks, tubeless tyres, ignitions and then engine parts or short stroke engines which someone says gives an additional 1 hp which they then have to deal with as the bike 'spins up' on the track. Then there's rider things like dangling the right leg ("it worked for Zmarzlik so that must be why he's multi world champion") rather than sitting further back or getting a longer seat, dropping the clutch repeatedly on the start line (which makes absolutely no difference to their start) and lots of others.
  19. He certainly has experience and can gate. Mind you so can Kemp. If he can get over the pulling up at the back he could still do a job. I guess the question would be who has the most improvement in them?
  20. Well will be an interesting signing that’s for sure. A hard racer but from what I’ve seen of him racing in Aus is he spends a fair amount of time on the floor or in the fences. also he was the rider that wiped Chris holder out in his first meeting in Aus this season. I think Berwick may be a bit of a challenge for him to start with
  21. He always said he was going to be world champion one day.
  22. That’s the big problem in the sport.Riders demanding an Annual Salary for 6 months work.Wage demands are out of control. It is a Sport and not a career.
