  1. Past hour
  2. Yes despite some horrible teams you can't fault Tolley's commitment to the cause his other business must make an absolute mint to cover the speedway losses.
  3. Was great racing the other week watching Emil carve through your top two and Ellis flying round Bewley …
  4. Every team every year prepare their track for home advantage why wouldn’t you? Clubs with great tracks can easily say it’s entertainment first because they will generate better racing that’s a given for them But one million percent Glasgow make the track to Bombers liking Trouble is if Ipswich put dirt down Bomber will love it but Lawson and Kvech are better on slick
  5. They’re good here, they ain’t your lot who are bloody useless 🙄
  6. Last 2 meetings 10 plus 2 and 11 plus 2….. he is in form Dan T has scored 2 in 3 matches recently On current form at Foxhall Dan replacing Ellis twice is tough
  7. I think the Prem has the reserve situation spot on. But don't see why the top averaged rider has to go at number 1. Top two at 1 or 5 would be my preference.
  8. Comfortable home win. 52-38. King's Lynn's draw in the Cup was an exceptional result. It was well celebrated, but overall, it was just a draw at the end of the day. Ipswich won't allow that to happen this time for sure.
  9. What ShanoXtra said is true, now I'd definitely go with Edwards
  10. Be interesting to see what the boys do tonight, what mood they are in and if they go for every inch or are now preparing for the play offs and will back out of ‘iffy’ moves. Remember it’s Ben Fund so everyone bring a few quid 😁
  11. Those comments were before he kept falling off every return from injury meeting I think. But now it’s a no brainier, just a shame really that we can’t finish the season with the 1-7 from Jan but such is life! Edward’s probably now riding for his spot, next season in that same position I’d imagine!
  12. The Adam of last week would be a huge miss as he top scored ? Plus pulled off a great ride in heat 15! witches still should win but…..
  13. Today
  14. I am assuming going by past years the below dates will be correct if my prediction is correct: Table 1. Ipswich 2. Leicester 3. Sheffield 4. Belle Vue Semi final 1 Mon 8th Sept Belle Vue vs Ipswich Witches R1 Thurs 11th Sept Ipswich Witches vs Belle Vue R2 Semi final 2 Mon 15th Sept Sheffield vs Leicester R1 Thurs 18th Sept Leicester vs Sheffield R2 Final Mon 22nd Leicester vs Ipswich R1 Thurs 25th Ipswich vs Leicester R2
  15. But it was due to there being a second half of decent racing from some youngsters. Main meeting lasted about 30 minutes longer than usual by my reckoning. Not bad considering there were a few incidents and a longer interval due to the SRBF collection.
  16. Official standings (scroll down a bit);: https://www.elitspeedway.com/slutspel-2025/ It seems teams are ranked like this; Team points Rider point quote (won divided by lost rider/heat points) Where the team finished in the regular series Smederna and Västervik have the same amount of team points (2) and won with the same score (46-44), Västervik are however ranked above Smederna since Västervik won the series and Smederna finished second.
  17. Jan has averaged 5.09 in his two visits this season. 8 from 6, 6 from 5 Rich. 5.60 9 (5) and 5 (5). Your not Shuvvy are you Edit.. Just checked, both Kurtz and Dan have both averaged just 6.13. Both 23 from 15 rides.
  18. It's only your "best" rider forced to be at #1 because of the Rolling Averages. It's a made-for-TV-rule that needs to be relaxed, at the very least to enable the Team Manager to put the top average rider at #1 or #5.
  19. Gerry Facenna in the Star this week talks about how the racing is paramount to the sports future success... As it brings the punters back... Preparing tracks just to win, and not to provide entertainment, is something he simply doesn't agree with... He must come on here looking at the ideas he has to improve his business.......
  20. I don't think they have a choice now...
  21. Excellent piece in the Speedway Star about the Brum closure... Nigel Tolley has put in two thirds of a million during his tenure... An incredible amount and he deserves great thanks from everyone who were able to keep attending... Crowds of 500 were the main issue and he said it costs £12-13k a match to run a home meeting... And then had the away costs in top! He said that having more UK based riders was vital for the sport, given the cost of flights, hotels, etc... Exactly what's been written in the letters pages of the Star for about three decades, and on here for 15 years or so...!!! If only promoters had realised that...! BZ wanted £7.5k a meeting so didn't get signed... A good interview with Brian Buck too, another who deserves great thanks for playing a huge part in the resurrection of the sport in Birmingham.. Another excellent publication this week from the Star team...
  22. As Coventry was mentioned, I remember the Grand Prix at Brandon. The rider I loved to watch who rode for Coventry was Andreas Jonsson.
  23. Another thing i always remember is travelling to away matches by coach, i can remember 6 coaches leaving the Belle Vue complex going down to Swindon covered in scarves pictures of the riders/team in the windows. What was great going down to Wembley when we got down to the Midlands we would be travelling along with coaches from Wolves, Cradley, Coventry all decked out had some great banter at the services.
  24. I always look back on the 1978 World Final at Wembley with great fondness.. Heat 4... Ivan Mauger... did he fall or was he pushed... Ole Olsen... my favourite rider at the time winning... Gordon Kennett... the captain of my team, White City, finishing 2nd... and on his birthday! The GP's will never be as good as those one-offs...
