  2. World individual Championships [edit] 2019 World individual championship - runner up 2019 World individual championship - 5th 2021 World individual championship - 7th 2022 World individual championship - runner up 2023 World individual championship - 5th 2024 World individual championship - 9th He missed 1 GP last year due to injury, if he'd scored his average he would have finished above Michelsen and did finish ahead of Lebedevs, Huckenbeck & Kvech... unbelievable Jeff!
  3. I was thinking that yesterday as well. Lebedevs is showing enough to suggest he can stick around for a while, and if the likes of Kvech and Huckenbeck are already in the series then there's no point to wild cards anymore. There's no country without a rider hosting a GP and I can't imagine ticket sales are going to increase in Latvia, Germany and the Czech Republic because they have 2 riders for that round. Just scrap them and have a 16th permanent rider. Aside from the obvious two of Laguta and Sayfutdinov, Madsen should be in there or even someone like Dudek would offer a lot more.
  4. Was gutted for Kurtz, great recovery after a disastrous start. Madsen had him fair and square though, it's a travesty Madsen is not in the GP series this year
  5. I was fortunate to watch all the above plus Mauger ( I previously thought he was the GOAT) and Briggs but IMO unlike them BZ is the complete package and in the GP'S I belelieve he would have the measure of Laguta who just sqeaked home in 2021 !
  6. I would imagine if he said otherwise he would be picking up his P45 ,IMO he is doing the best he can with the product on show .I think that the sport is struggling at every level for multiple reasons , if your not careful all the rounds will end up being run either at the NSS or Polish tracks .
  7. Is he though? How can you really tell when there is nobody else who seems capable of properly challenging him and genuinely putting him under pressure? Nobody else has the consistency. World number 2 Robert Lambert, for example, ended up with 3 points last night. If you look through history, the great champions always had someone pushing them. Funding, Briggs, Olsen and Mauger all had each other. Nielsen and Gundersen had each other. Rickardsson had Pedersen, Crump, Hancock, Adams etc. Since Zmarzlik started winning World Championships, the one rider to properly challenge him was Artem Laguta - and Laguta won and was promptly removed from the series. Zmarzlik's most consistent challenger is probably Lindgren, who is not really a genuine rival. Someone needs to step up to the plate to make this interesting. Can Kurtz do that? I'm not convinced. Holder maybe? It's a shame Bartosz can't be transported into another era so we could really see how good he is. To be honest, if you could do that and transport someone like Egon Muller into the modern series, my guess is you'd see Muller winning multiple World Championships and being hailed as a contender for the greatest of all time.
  8. Says it all, plenty of drum banging about the Kent venture and not a peep about the match today anywhere
  9. I just feel comments about being the greatest world champion of all time are ott, you cant compare eras, in the days of the one of world final there was a long difficult route to qualify for the final, every rider had to qualify on merit including the reigning champion. The night itself you could cut the atmoshphere with a knife, every race counted with no second chances due to a scoring system we see today, there were several riders who could actually take the title. If the current system had been in operation ive ofen wondered how many titles the likes of Mauger would have won, it would have been tailor made for him with his incredible consistency. The GP doesnt have the best 16 riders in the world, there are get out of jail cards thanks to the scoring system and speaking personally the series just doesnt do it for me. Its all about opinion but i dont think you can compare different eras. One other thing some posters have mentioned Tatum saying what a great night of racing as he does during boring league meetings, any non fans watching for the first time must be thinking if this is a great meeting wouldnt like to see a poor one and certainly wouldnt be motivated to go along to their local track if they actually have one.
  10. I think you overthink things. Once the Club are ready to make an announcement they will.what difference does it make when they announce it. Regards to Victor he also said we all know Victor will get seven and a half rides whilst laughing. if you are going to have your usual pop at least don’t be selective in what you put down.
  11. Think ill be going down for this meeting paying my last respects to Perry bar. 😪 providing weather ok.

  14. IF he has been banned for 28 days as suggested then he won't be riding for Lynn tomorrow anyway.
  15. But he was riding with Harris for the Spires when he lost it, so that seems a rather perverse rationale
  16. There's no need for any of these host nations to have a local wild card anymore as they all have a home nation rider already in it
  17. Did we really want Milik again. ? At least they were trying someone new with Bubba.
  18. I think they signed Boughen because they thought as Kings Lynn probably do that riding with Harris would help him get back to the form he is capable of but unfortunately that hasnt happened. Now we have a new scenario when he gets no points at all and refused to take all his rides, if he rides tomorrow for Kings Lynn and does the same he will be sacked, Buster Chapman will not accept it. He may have been sacked by Glasgow who knows what has happened behind the scenes.
  19. Moan moan moan. I was rooting for Kurtz in the semi final, shame. Lambert was truly awful.
  20. just watched replay, felt for Kurtz, Madsen really wanted it, shame Kurtz didn't try that inside line earlier think he was only rider who could ride that line that tight.
  21. ... and you've not even mentioned Klima, there's no way that rider should be anywhere near a GP! The Czechs already have Kvech in the series so what's the logic of giving the wild card spot to Klima?!?!
  22. Same link for today’s 2 matches at 4pm and 6.30pm UK times
  23. Tatum was truly embarrassing tonight. At least Chris Louis sounded bored - like the rest of us. Sadly the TV coverage reflects the state of the sport at present ... Abi treats the gate selection like something off Blue Peter and the pit interviews just get worse by the year. No wonder the interest is waning.
