I call him the Goat not just because how many titles he has won but because his ability on a speedway bike, it is far in excess of any rider now or historically, he is an out and out racer and he has provided some of the best 4th to first moves of the last few years, his ability to read a situation and react is matched by nobody, he never jumps the start, he never has mechanical issues his discipline and his will to win are are a hard act to follow, statistically he isn’t there yet but he is 30 and 6 times winner, 8 medals in 9 years 6 gold, that is the Goat

Well done to Dan. Look back on his career and how he has come back from adversity to be one of the GBs top riders and I am convinced that he will claim that championship one day. Thanks to all the GP riders who made this year’s competition what it became and on to 2026. Now just the domestic championships to be resolved and the SON.

Yeah he speaks well and comes across well… spoke to him at Ipswich earlier in the season and is level headed … need a to kick on again and next year is his for the taking And no BZ is not in the same level as Rickardsson he is more of a racer where as Tony was more of a trapper however you can only beat what is in front of you

GP line-up for 2026
BackInTheDHSS replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Fricke, Laguta, Sayfutdinov... boom, what a line-up that would be. -
You lose the argument when you throw threats around Have a little look over the thread I said I think Kurtz will be world champion next year However fact is as good as he was he wasn’t better than Zmarzlik this year You could say Mark Loram who didn’t win a round didn’t deserve it…. But of course he did he got the most points unfortunately as alluded by many on this forum Belle Vue fans can’t take any kind of discussion that doesn’t favour their own riders

GP line-up for 2026
eric i replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its probably going to be fricke Michelsen and Doyle -
Good words from Kurtz, didn't mention dropping a chain or sprint races just said it how it was, he lost at the end of a season and he could do no more. It must be a massive mental boost for the lad. I'm not in the BZ is the GOAT camp as I just find that a bit disrespectful to the late Ivan Mauger and Tony Rickardsson... but I'm sure he'll get a 7th and claim that title in the years to come.
