Still happening in 2018 although it was for a very different reason. I booked two guests from the same club and both of them told me, before the meeting, that ‘their’ promoter had told them not to do well for me as he didn't want us getting anything from the meeting. They both rode well , one got double figures I think, and we took the ‘bonus point’, because they were honest and they got rewarded accordingly. It was the only time I witnessed that scenario but then that particular promoter was always causing issues . Im very confident it was a one off as now every club uses guests on a regular basis ( unfortunately ) so it wouldn't work in any ones favour. There isnt any club loyalty anymore as riders ride for so many teams, they are just interested in their wage packet, quite right too the way the sport is currently.

That’s you in trouble now you’ll have some of the Berwick faithful coming for you now. 😂 You’re not allowed to to say things that are true. -
Looking at the league table they need a few snookers🤨

Prediction of 2025 Championship league
Fromafar replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Teams that do well have too have 1 good reserve who improves their average, this where dangerous they manage too get VP in on good average and it now means they will always have Top 5 man at reserve during the season think with their home track advantage they will fancy their Top4 chances. They look decent.IMO.Lots of Teams have 2 weak reserves.IMO -

Isn't it: guest or R/R for missing rider followed by ban for withholding services or 75% guest and no ban. - looks like Plymouth have gone for the latter. - Today

Nick Morris becoming available if Brum can be bothered to try something to improve results. Dare say he’ll be putting in plenty of practice at Leicester to get up to some sort of reliable pace.

It doesn’t really inspire the travel to watch a guest fest that doesn’t resemble the usual Glasgow team. Also making us much weaker so can see why some have decided against it. -

I don't think it's for lack of trying. Just can't get people. Looking at the teams for tonight, I'm not minded to go. -
I suspect thier play off dream could be over....

Jason Edwards said a while back that he prefers guest bookings as it doesn't effect his average, so it must at least be on their minds.

Just looked at the forecast and it looks decent for today... Going to risk it even with Cumbria s "changeable" weather... Still might be tempted to stay over given I had a great night there a good many years ago after going to watch the Comets v The IOW, with Danny Bird riding superbly all evening... When I asked the landlord of the pub we were in what time he closed, his answer was "when everyone has finished drinking"... Which was around 4am if memory serves.... Taking my lad today though so maybe just coming back might be safer!.... With some the riders on view it should hopefully be a cracker on that track... -
25.07.2025 - Scunny v Edinburgh Double Header
Moranboys replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to say..what a great advert for speedway last night, for the most part,a pretty close meeting with some fabulous racing..if last night is anything to go by then Jonathan grahns is definitely one to watch but congratulations to the whole Edinburgh team,a very solid performance.a mention too for the ndl meeting that followed, some really fast close racing in that one too..and both meetings over for just after ten o,clock.a nice touch was to see the monarch's team go over to the travelling supporters,a great gesture. -

Looking at our guests tonight suggests we have thrown the towel in and have surrendered any chance of a win.
