  1. Past hour
  2. I’ve just read it. Apparently everyone is now happy that the rule is that, if a rider’s wheels CROSS the white line, then that would normally lead to disqualification. And, despite multiple views from photographers and videographers, there is no evidence that Cook CROSSED the white line. Well, that’s everyone expect the BSPL chairman who is making up his own rule that even touching the line should lead to disqualification. Where has this man been? I’m sure many people, like me, have watched many slow motion replays where there’s been dust coming from a back wheel but zooming in has shown the tyre on the line not over it. Indeed, wasn’t that Darcy Ward’s favoured method of passing? The Poole bashers have been out in force on this one but the Poole management, unlike too many others, have done the right thing by not adding fuel to this unnecessary fire. I am convinced that, had it been Josh Pickering not Zach Cook whose wheel had gone on to the line, nothing would have been said. The statement from Neil Vatcher declines to say who wrote the SCB comment which is disappointing - the SCB should have manned up on this, especially as they so quickly threw Paul Carrington under the proverbial bus. At the end of the day, Poole are worthy champions having out-ridden everyone all season and provided some exciting meetings on their travels. And Scunthorpe are unexpectedly for many, me included, runners up. It’s over, folks, so on to 2027.
  3. explains why there is a battle for cairns, his low average comes in useful
  4. Unlike many, I liked the RS scheme. But think the changes they are making will make it far worse. Like you say, more likely to mean you sung riders well out of their depth, especially if the league is stronger. Could get a 3.5 Champ rider gaining a Prem spot because he's 20, but a 5.5 Champ rider missing out because he's 21 already! Don't think they've thought this through at all, at least the consequences.
  5. Or Becker at four if he can be tempted back to the UK.
  6. Today
  7. So this is based on 38 for 6? International u21 avg. Will count towards it and the british "Rising Star" spot wont as before?
  8. The U21 thing I found a bit confusing also. He said we’re already “half way there” because we already have a rising star scheme. Those rising stars now have to be under 21 riders. He goes on to explain about the 25% rule which will still be active. Cooper Rushen won’t get it because he chose to opt out of the scheme this year and ride at 6, but the likes of Edwards and Joe Thompson will do. The confusing part was William Cairns. “Will Cairns also gets 25% off his average, as he comes out of the rising star scheme” Why is Cairns out of the R/S scheme? He obviously fits the U21 criteria, and he has a GSA of 3.77. The only thing that makes any sense is that Morris knows like Rushen this year, he’s now opted out and is lining up as someone’s other U21 rider at number 6 on a 3.00 average 🤷🏼‍♂️ He goes on to say new riders are added to the list including Ace Pijper and Vinnie Foord. Theres going to be such a huge disparity in ability between the top end of teams and the bottom unfortunately. Some clubs are going to have to pick up a rising star that’s going to be out of their depth. Not sure on this to be honest.
  9. Having just read Phil Morris’ interview in the Speedway Star, has he accidentally given away that we’ll have a 7 team League next season rather than 6? Morris admits Britain needs two race days. He said: "The reason Britain has two slot days is because we do a hell of a lot more fixtures per team than Sweden, Denmark and Poland. They all do 14 meetings. We do 24 per team. There's the difference straight away. "We also have progression in a cup competition and league play-offs. Riders could do six extra meetings across both, so it rises to a possible 30. In Poland, the most they could have is 18 if they made the play-off final." He’s used 24 meetings as the base minimum presumably for League meetings, we had 20 this year. 24 League meetings is obviously home and away twice in a 7 team league. Who’s team number 7? Is it Eastbourne, or have they got someone to move up..
  10. 1 Jason Doyle 8.62 2 Sam Masters 5.96 3 Kye Thomson 6.13 4 7.51 5 Jaimon Lidsey 6.34 6 Mitchell McDiarmid 3.44 7 Luke Harrison RS Could it be a very Aussie looking line up for Northampton? 7.51 for the final rider. NKI, Danny King or Zach Cook would be the best looking options for that final spot imo. First season has been a decent success for them, I hope it continues into 2027.

  12. Witches target new number one IPSWICH chairman Richard Coleman has his sights set on bringing a stellar No. 1 to Foxhall for 2027. The Tru7 Group Witches only confirmed their entry into this year's ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on March 1, meaning their team-building options were limited, with riders signing elsewhere or committing to other European leagues by this point. The 2025 champions opted for a strength-in-depth side, which saw British racers Tom Brennan and later Richard Lawson take on the No. 1 position. While both gave their all in a testing role, Coleman is keen to bring an international big-hitter to Suffolk for 2027 as Witches bid to regain the Premiership trophy. He said: "I think it's super-important. If you look at any side, you need to try and win all your home meetings and pick up what you can on the road. That's where a No. 1 can make a big difference. They can get those big scores when you are away. "Tom came back from an injury. Asking him to be a No. 1 was probably a little unfair on him. He planned to be doing a lot more riding than he did in Poland and Sweden. When you are out of nick, you need to be on your bike and Tom didn't get enough seat time when he needed it. "We didn't have the luxury of choice regarding a No. 1 rider last winter. But for 2027, we have no excuses." Coleman is unable to reveal any names of his targets at this stage but hopes to have some news in a few weeks. He said: "I can't say too much at the moment. We have two riders confirmed and we have contracts out with three others. Then we have dialogue ongoing over the other positions. "At the moment, I'm confident we can put out a good side. Nothing is done until it is done. We have had a mixture of conversations that will come to light after the AGM and the end-of-season dinner on November 6."
  13. As, indeed, used to be the case in speedway. Belle Vue before the War; Wembley late 40s/early 50s; Wimbledon mid 50s/early 60s
  14. Problem is can GB speedway afford the money even the lower rated Foreign riders want. Are we paying more than Sweden and Denmark. This Polish situation might throw up extra riders but can we match these other Countries deals.
  15. Even the second tier of young danes would be welcome additions if we couldn't get michelsen or Bastian Pederson over.
  16. Apparently the SCB's Neil Vatcher is making a statement in this week's Speedway Star!
  17. Maybe not for Poole but has been in talks with at least one Premiership team to be their overseas U21 rider but as in 2026 his parents are not keen on taking on UK without a strong support system in place for Beau
  18. Don’t think Beau Bailey will ever ride in the UK.
  19. Has Slater Lightcap got an official average as he’s only rode 3 home and 2 away league matches? Or is he still on a 4.00 assessed average?
  20. I'll say a few things just to make my position crystal clear..... 1. I'm not a Poole fan. I've been a Bees fan for a lot of years and our conflicts have been "intense" to say the least. And don't get me onto Poole's track preparation. Its a joke. 2. I watched both legs of the final, supporting Scunthorpe, although they mean very little to me apart from their speedway abilities. 3. I was excited to see the second leg go to a Super Heat. I was particularly impressed by Josh Pickering's understanding of what it takes to win a race where coming first doesn't necessarily win you anything. 4. I saw Zach Cook take a "very tight line" when Josh Pickering let him take over the lead. Did he put both wheels where they shouldn't have been? The evidence (so far) is inconclusive. Yes, that's right, False dawn agrees with the referee and the speedway supporting population of Poole. 5. The SCB clearly said that Zach breached the rules. My conclusion. The SCB ruled on something they didn't need to. They knew before their investigation that the result could not be changed so why do anything? And worse still, why muddy the waters by saying they are 100% certain the rules were breached. And worse still than that, why say the rules were breached without saying how they reached that decision. What evidence do they have that we haven't seen? So, despite my history with Poole, my argument is not with Zach Cook, the club or anyone associated with them. The SCB have many questions to answer and their response to the controversy is silence. I am, first and foremost, a speedway fan. I deserve my sport to be managed better.
  21. I don't disagree with the 'little change' stance. As for the fixture planning let's not forget that every 2 years there are major international football tournament dates to avoid as many sports fans like to follow many sports. Having said that, the majority of regular Championship fixtures were completed by mid Sept. 2027 should be better, weather permitting.......
  22. I wonder if mikkel michelsen could be tempted over? Rumour was Louis got very close to a deal with him as an injury replacement for Doyle
  23. Riders don't come to Poole for the track though, they come for the trophies! 😁🤷‍♀️ Tate also rumoured for Edinburgh, that is why i said Scotland😉 Though tbf he rumoured everywhere apart from Worky! Everyone thought Masters was too. So maybe no one is Poole bound til they have signed. Better way to look at it.
