Also disappointed but did hear that it wasn't down to the promotion but the salary he was asking for.

Dean said he was taking a break from all forms of social media including this site

Track conditions caught us out big time last night suited the likes of MPT as it was super slick. Reserves cost us big time last night failing to beat a single opposition rider. The exclusion of Dan last night is the worst refereeing decision I’ve seen in Speedway and will probably never be topped, Hope to never see Graham Hunter in charge of a Edinburgh Speedway meeting again, seen him make a couple of weird decisions before but that last night was something else. Has the guy ever watched speedway before? He originally gave all 4 back then decided to exclude Dan. When asked why he said cause he flicked his wheel at him then changed his mind again and said he shoved him out the way. About time so refs started getting looked at and removed.

He also needs regular meetings to settle in This season has been awful for most teams

This was a good, tight contest. Those (many) doubters who put Scunny down as definite wooden-spooners must be thinking again. However, the Scorpions were lucky to get their draw -- the astounding Heat 6 decision to exclude Dan T was very, very wrong. A re-run with Dan it it (and Dayle out) would have given Edinburgh a narrow, but deserved, victory.

Hopefully Jacobsen will get more confidence riding at reserve. If he’s still not scoring more, not good.

Thought it was an excellent meeting that was as close as expected. Tonight will be no different. Allen, Edwards, Mulford have all scored big at Plymouth. Lambert has guested here plenty in recent times... Plymouth will need to be on it from Heat 1 tonight to try and get the tie level as quickly as they can, they worst nightmare for the Bears is a 5-1 in Heat 1... Hoping for a HUGE crowd tonight, looking outside my window currently at 08.43 and there isn't a cloud in the sky - should be a cracking finale to this tie, hope plenty of you join us on Gladiators TV later

I agree on the Jacob Hook front personally I was disappointed when he wasnt signed for this year. Claus Vissing never really seemed to like Northside and never gelled in the team.

Who needs fans eh?!

You do realise the GP circus has been haemorrhaging money at a rate of knots in recent years Phil? I find it staggering that the likes of you AND others on here, are critical of Mayfield for tightening the budget and making cuts. That’s exactly what’s been needed for years now. It simply couldn’t go on the way it was and we’re fortunate to even have a GP series to watch at the moment reading the articles in the Star the last few months. Richard Coleman knows exactly what he’s doing, its a pity he wasn’t in place a long time ago. As for Ipswich, I also find it staggering he’s already getting criticised there too. People do realise he didn’t actually take over until the arse end of February? Three and a half months ago. What are people expecting? Belle Vue signed Doyle because they have a vacancy, Ipswich don’t. I’m not sure sacking a couple of riders already to fit him back in would be the reputation they’re looking for, especially when they already have a cup final booked! Give them a chance ffs 🙄

First official league match in 8 years.

I'am trying to locate this image of Dan bewley; If anyone knows where I can buy it from or find it please let me know; I want this specific image of Dan holding the trophy after his win at Belle Vue last year GP; I have cropped - whole photo will be ideal. Thanks in advance.

Seems pretty simple to me, when heat 10 came along, the Scunny team manager had decided his reserves were going better than Harrison, so saved Mountain's r/r ride till heat 14. If he wanted to leave himself with more options could have used Mountain in heat 10, then when heat 14 came around chose between Harrison & the 2 reserves to go out. Mind you, you could wonder why after the team manager decided the reserves were going better than Harrison, then Harrison ran a last in heat 10, why didn't he replace him in heat 12? As it turned out, Harrison rode better. But part of me feels, if you're leaving Harrison in his 4th ride hoping he'll improve, why remove the chance of a r/r outing in case he improves? For example had Harrison won heat 10, then also heat 12, would they want to give him heat 14, leaving Mountain without a r/r ride? I think I'd rather err on the side of caution, plan to give a team rider an r/r ride, then replace them in a programmed ride if necessary.

I agree with you to a degree, but Jakobsen was signed on a 5 but averaging 3, so couldn't have any complaints if he was dropped.

I believe it was spoken about a few years ago. Obviously Spedeworth run the stadium but I believe the owners are still the original Ipswich Speedway from 1951. The stands I think came from the London Olympics. I believe the capacity is around 12000, and I'm pretty sure it will be packed in a few weeks for the Hot Rod final. As for improvements, it's a lot better than a few years ago but as with everything it's a numbers game.

Can we just take a minute to actually realise it will be around the end of June before any witches fan sees a different team at Foxhall when you realise only Northampton and Kings Lynn have raced here this season. And shock, the next meeting is Kings Lynn. It’s really not that exciting for any Ipswich fans to keep watching the same riders race round.
