  1. Past hour
  2. My gut feeling is it was never in doubt that the Gladiators would be coming to tapes in 2027. When the article hit the Plymouth Herald on the 20th October the quoted target was £20000 not £46000 ? It's not as if it is a big track. The threat of not running in 2027 has obviously had the desired effect.
  3. Possibly helps popular holiday destination people looking for something to do whilst down their.
  4. Based on? Do you know if rules are changing? The rumoured team of Doyle, Bewley, King, Riss, Nilsson, Cairns and Foord doesnt fit if he isnt a 4.50? In the other forums theres someone saying thats definitely the team What have you heard?
  5. I think we can safely say for one thing. Kim nilsson will not be a 4.5 average
  6. Good to see a few lads turn out today for a practice. That young dane looked good
  7. So reopening for stock cars next Saturday. Hopefully speedway people can have talks with Spedeworth about a comeback for the Eagles.
  8. On a 10.88 average, certainly would be a surprise
  9. Which stand alone clubs like Buxton are you referring to? Mildenhall and Iwade haven't entered the NDL since 2023 Isle of Wight, Stoke and Cradley not since 2019. (2 of those are now defunct). So who are the "stand alone clubs like Buxton"?
  10. Poole crowds seem very decent, I was down in summer with the comets and must have been 1500 crowd, in the play offs crowds were well over 2000, must be a lot of people down south like win from the gate racing 😜 not a fan of Poole but they must be doing something good to get attendances like that every home meeting
  11. Close, Championship or Nora i would guess.
  12. Could chris holder be a surprise signing for the Pirates??
  13. Today
  14. I’d imagine Nicholls,Barker,Batchelor would be the heatleaders id imagine and Joe Thompson at 4 looks fairly certain that’s the top 4 and I’d imagine Tobias Thomsen would make up the top 5.
  15. May have to ask the BSPL, let’s hope the rumours are wrong but it’s well known the Chairman isn’t a fan of the NDL , for some reason.
  16. What big boys? The top flight is a shambles and will be again this season. Poole owners run the club as a business and do what is best for them and running on a Wednesday night in the championship makes them run at a profit I believe.
  17. 1.Kurtz 9.22 2.Zischke 5.47 3.Bloedorn 6.02 4. 5.Z Cook 7.35 6. Total 28.06 (8.94) remaining im assuming those 4 are shoe ins What options have the aces got? Flint 5.93 and a 3.00 rider could be an option I see.
  18. Never been a problem at Workington, Berwick or Redcar, the three tracks I visit , as they all host junior league matches , intervals , etc and still complete the meetings in under two and a half hours . Just needs proper management.
  19. I didn’t even realise the GP assessed rules had changed. Didn’t it used to simply be any current GP rider is assessed at 8.00? When did that change?
  20. Just looking at the criteria gives you plenty of loopholes I would think... And as has been mentioned, Rise on a converted average will provide plenty of room for guests if his head injury comes back, after he has ridden enough Premiership matches.. A "proper sport" would of course say anyone who has achieved "elite status" by reaching the GP's, should be 7.00 (at least), especially as so few HL positions exist over here due to only six teams, suggesting any GP rider should be in the "top 12" of UK Speedway, given so few top level riders ride over here.. And anyone who has to pull out of a meeting due to a known recurring injury should mean his team only get RR, at best, as a facility.. I am sure Richard Coleman will enjoy himself pitting his wits against the other promoters..
  21. Maybe 7 teams but probably only 3 of them competitive. Unfortunately the sport in its current format I would suggest would fail to garner any meaningful tv deal. Unfortunately nobody votes for change when the end result means shafting your own promotion.
  22. A common theme throughout the British speedway 2030 vision survey is around governance of British speedway - BSPL effectively. Many people point out that the clubs running the leagues leaves people arguing and not thinking about the greater good of the sport. In terms of ways to improve it, what suggestions do you have? The Premier League in football is owned by their clubs too but their board has 3 x independent non-exec directors on it additionally as well as a chair and CEO. What would you like independent running of the league in to look like and what would it do different (give examples). www.speedway2030.org Cheers Mike
  23. Credit to King's Lynn for not running off to the CHAMP whilst making up every excuse under the sun to avoid the big boys like Poole have done for a good few years now. Not Buster's biggest fan as everyone knows but I can respect the fact that he's not afraid to mix it with the big boys despite him operating on a tight budget.
