Part of the reason it closed was due to Sheffield switching to Sunday racing.

2025 Torun SON and SON 2
bigcatdiary replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
A bit like a Finnish rider riding for team Sweden against his own country, it’s complete and utter pants and the idiots in charge sanction it. It’s difficult to understand why supporters don’t go and watch this spectacle isn’t it. -
They won't need him if they land Beau Bailey that lad genuinely looks like the next Leigh Adams ,hopefully he is well advised and doesn't try to jump to high to start with even allowing for his bags of natural talent.

Same way you can top a league table and not win the title I guess. -
What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
YeOldPitGate replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Has anyone heard anything around the future of Leicester I'm hoping Cairns snr isn't going to chuck the towel in after one season ? -
Excellent that all sounds very promising just need to hope now there's some kind of league structure still in place for 2026 as these sound exactly the kind of people we need to attract into promotion. I'm not going to put you on the spot but I wonder if its the chap who has mountains of cash who backs Ipswich and is also supporting Sheffield from memory.

That is probably a very good guess.

Your opinion- my opinion they knew the rules before heat 1 it’s called building the excitement up with a last chance heat- same can happen on Saturday- just go with the flow lol -

Because even though Eurosport is no longer around in the UK it is still around in Europe and therefore the English commentary is used in some areas. -

How can you outscore a team and not quaify. So wrong -

Only in speedway could a team accrue more points in the main meeting such as Ukraine and the team with fewer points in the Czech Republic qualifies for the final. No wonder few take this two wheeled sport seriously. -

44 heats + build up of Kelvin Tatums commentary so far… dictators around the globe are probably looking into utilising this as the most brutal torture ever endured by man. No doubt about that working overtime jet propelled. -

I suspect this is a daft question but why is the stream I am watching showing Eurosport as the broadcaster but the commentary is the two culprits based in the UK. -
Well yes, they are bring prioritised because they are at SF stage still and KOC is further ahead being just the final. So makes sense to prioritise it imo. Also you need to be scheduling fixtures in soon as possible now we are in October as you are relying on weather and stadium availability.

2025 Torun SON and SON 2
Hawk127 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He will be a GP rider in the next few years and it is just a pity that he is not slightly older as he would be a good challenge for the top GP riders. His time will come and is a future world champion. -
‘Sensitive’ comes to mind and it’s been shown unfortunately that he might be in the wrong job. I’m surprised the Aussie collective hasn’t given him the low down on Poland and its disgraceful use of riders. The rewards can be enormous but it’s clearly not worth making yourself ill to chase a dream.

It's responsibility, back in the early days of the SGP series track prep was left to the local organisers and a number of ploughed fields were served up or tracks favouring home riders. Mr Morris is independent and prepares an independent track and if he balls it up, it's on him. -

Kvech makes the best start, rides Torun every other week but doesn't ride the wide line? Bizarre, made it too easy for Kurtz & Holder -

I have seen some great meetings from Torun.... So why do their track curator's need any guidance from Phil Morris ..? Was he there all those Fridays and Sundays that I watched those great meetings from there?
