  1. Past hour
  2. Dont give up the day job, as if you are trying to be a comedian, you wont even be able to sweep the stage ! I never worked in banking, and was fortunate enough to be able to take early retirement, so you trying to be a smug little grass fell flat, unfortunately for you !
  3. Steve Irving seems to have developed a mild allergy to facts when it comes to Richard Coleman and Mayfield Sports Events. A quick look at Companies House shows that Mayfield only came into existence in August 2025 — meaning any “track record of success” is, at best, still in the paddock. A quick Google confirms that while MotoGP’s Tech3 team has a long list of investors, Richard Coleman is not among them. Mayfield hasn’t even staged a single Speedway Grand Prix heat as event controllers yet, but somehow found time to slice riders’ prize money by up to 30%. Yet Steve calls their involvement “huge”… and he’s right, just not in the way he thinks. It’s a huge gamble — a huge leap into the unknown. Meanwhile, the much‑rumoured Mayfield takeover of Ipswich Speedway still looks some distance from the chequered flag. With February 18th upon us and no deal in sight, we’ll probably see the Easter Bunny before that contracts get inked. Maybe Steve’s just still got stars in his eyes from his favourite little‑known TV show, Track Idol, where he votes for Richard Coleman week after week — while the rest of us prefer the factual series Unblinkered. You have also never considered that, being born in the late 1960s, I have been in and around speedway for a very long time, nor have you considered that I have crossed paths with Coleman and know how he operates... For the sake of speedway, and people, fans, riders and others, potentially left high and dry by Coleman / Mayfield, but history says otherwise... Have you seen Flagrag's comments later in this thread ? : "Unfortunately Mayfield don’t have a great record with Speedway organisational skills. The GPs that they promoted operationally were a disaster with a number of important things that they forgot to arrange and in the end Discovery got them out of a mess by arranging the missing bits and bringing their operations team in. Even on the day little things were not arranged like buffet and food for officials , sponsors not getting their pit walks and badge allocation with track marshals names not on lists for practice just for the event etc "
  4. Bysarna speedway have now started the construction work on their new 500 cc track which will measure 302m i length.
  5. Less than 4 weeks to the official season starts 6 weeks till Easter, normally prime speedway crowds. BUT yet still no fixtures 😲 people are wanting to plan their lives and family time 🤔
  6. Today
  7. I understand the frustration but I don’t think people have stopped caring, they are just fed up with the same problems. What’s needed now is clearer direction and better promotion to keep fans turning up at Ipswich and across the sport.
  8. Yep mine had been booked as well since I new the date in Salford Quays 3 nights £170.Booked for Branham horse trials in June as soon as I knew the date from last year. They changed it about 4 months a go to the week after now but luckily I had free cancellation as it was supposed to be the Grand Prix weekend.
  9. And the longer it goes on, many potential sponsors may lose interest in putting money into a local track, as the sponsor will have to include the money in a potential business plan and organise to bring contacts for a day out at their chosen fixture
  10. My hotel been booked since the date came out, but on cancellation as waiting to see if I need to rob a bank for tickets 😛
  11. There's a couple of international matches planned for Mildenhall this season I believe... looking forward to seeing Bewley, Lambert, DJ Woffy et al in action 🤔😉
  12. Can imagine potential sponsors at Northampton has long time lost interest similar with other clubs to a lesser extent cant even tell a potential sponsor how many teams are in the league this close to the start of the new season in all honesty who would be the slightest bit interested in sponsoring a club ?
  13. I am sure the UK Speedway Marketing Director, and the young team of innovators and influencers who work for him/her, are working on the launch even whilst we discuss it...
  14. Phil Morris has been very quiet. He should do an interview on a speedway podcast to let everyone know what is going on. Communication has been poor. He used to come on here and answer questions but has done a bunk.
  15. Will you still be able to get the new HBO if you are a EE mobile customer like you get with TNT Sports?
  16. Why would not knocking the stadium down stop any chance speedway not returning to Swindon ? So its begs the question why does Park want it knocked down ? He tells us that there no link between the Abbey being knocked and being built on and the Studley project so why would it concern him ? People always said that they were getting paid to get out of the abbey and this can only add and fuel to that claim .
  17. The Peter Craven you will be able to get walk in tickets on the day but not sure about the Grand Prix.
  18. Maybe Northampton could launch with a GB v Aus Test Match?
  19. Who are the Northampton promoters? Is it a competition that they are running?
  20. We wanted a complete fixture list that we could publish but gave up waiting and put the PCMT info out on Monday. A months notice is not what was wanted but when compared to how Phil & his buddies promote the play off fixtures it looks positively gold star.
  21. Mayfield are nothing to do with Northampton so no need to mention them in this thread.
  22. That’s the problem we at Belle Vue have had for decades, knowing who will be in our league. Any of our current or past competitors can just decide on a whim that they are dropping out. It’s a nightmare and very amateurish.
  23. It’s a joke. The only domestic fixture Belle Vue is allowed to promote is the PCMT. That’s on the 16th of March with tickets now on sale. As for when the idiots running the rest, well your guess is as good as mine but patience is wearing thin on both sides of the fence at the NSS.
  24. Unfortunately Mayfield don’t have a great record with Speedway organisational skills. The GPs that they promoted operationally were a disaster with a number of important things that they forgot to arrange and in the end Discovery got them out of a mess by arranging the missing bits and bringing their operations team in. Even on the day little things were not arranged like buffet and food for officials , sponsors not getting their pit walks and badge allocation with track marshals names not on lists for practice just for the event etc
  25. So a person who was a co-director, with Terry Russell, in the company (supposedly) formed to save Swindon Speedway, is now saying Swindon Speedway was never viable? There's no hope for Speedway at Swindon, so you can go ahead and knock the Abbey stadium down? Why would someone be such a weasel? A cynic might think that with the sad demise of Terry Russell, there is now only one weak obstacle in Clarke Osborne's way. Clarkey boy might then have a look through his stationery cupboard at the brown envelopes, while he tries to think of a way to persuade the obstacle to disappear.
