  1. Past hour
  2. Dont the home fans sing you have only come to see City? It is certainly the case that tickets for matches at more readily available for smaller games so the opposition is a big factor especially when it comes to cup competitions where the tickets are not included in the cost of a season ticket. I would also suggest that my team Poole would generate a bigger crowd than normal if it was one league.
  3. Today
  4. Plenty of empty seats when not on TV, too... "Big Names" are only that to the less than 0.1% of the polulation who follow the sport... They mean nothing to the 99.9+% of the population who don't.... What an opportunity for growth though if you could make admission affordable for more people, allied to a properly joined up national marketing campaign to try and make many, many millions of people aware that they have a Speedway track within a 45 minute drive of their home...
  5. Yesterday
  6. Having said that though, they'll have Josh Pickering and he is worth watching, wherever he rides.
  7. It won't be democratic if the WEF globalists get their way
  8. Six days apart which was the norm at Oxford due to the running in both the premiership and championship. I doubt very much the meeting being shown on BSN would have made up the difference in attendance between the two meetings. The so called big names don’t really draw people in anymore, I expect if you asked people in Manchester who Brady Kurtz is nearly everybody wouldn’t have a clue. Belle Vue have two of the best riders in the world but when looking at the empty seats on the tv matches they are hardly drawing the punters in.
  9. Two meetings in a week and one of them being shown on BSN. I reckon more saw The Aces meeting just not necessarily at the track.
  10. Oxford Glasgow Redcar Plymouth Poole Workington Berwick Edinburgh Scunthorpe Top 4 hard to separate, injuries to top 3 riders in any team will be hard to replace and decide season, same riders never end a season fit or in the team
  11. Not always, went to Oxford v Belle Vue last season and the crowd was awful. Next match was against Plymouth and the crowd was much bigger.
  12. Local(ish) derby's are just as likely to attract bigger crowds.
  13. I recently upset someone and they sent me a one word email response. I was surprised that they couldn’t spell ‘can’t’!
  14. I suppose though that every track has a different levels of finance coming in and outgoings depending on sponsors rent and ownership . Eg Glasgow/Poole to Scunthorpe .
  15. We all have different views , after all it’s a democratic country However god help us all if that shower are in government. Now back to the speedway .

  17. Teams need to stop overpaying riders money they can’t afford for starters.
  18. Could be the only hope to avoid a real life Hunger Games Agenda 2030 which was laughed at as fantasy/conspiracy is nearly upon us If that isn't stopped the state of speedway is the least of our problems Research the new Agenda 2050 'Absolute Zero' plan and then decide if you want to give the current encumbents further licence.......
  19. Too many seem to want to join in a race to the bottom... Which is quite baffling given the actual "rewards" available... Some see this, and quite rightly, cut their cloth accordingly and sensibly, and ensure Speedway can continue each season at their venue...
  20. Agree. Better riders bring better crowds and I’m looking forward to seeing them in UK leagues whilst I can.
  21. Fully understand the budget situation etc but the team will be cannon fodder when they ride away from home which you could argue is unfair on the other promotions. Home fans won't turn out to see Scunthorpe away from home which equals poor gates and additional costs in paying their high scoring riders. Love if I was proved wrong but with the current team I really can't see anything but heavy defeats away from home.
  22. come on be positive everything is going to be just fine,
  23. To add to this the club runs to a budget and pays on time every time . I do understand though to most posters on here that a club that provides great racing in a cost effective manner owing no riders money is in anyway a positive
