I never worked for anything less than the going rate and always wanted more and if not bye bye and would not under sell myself ever.

Trouble is people let’s have more fixtures in school holidays which is all well and good when the weather is good,Families go away for the 2 week break then your losing punters so you can not win.
-
Do we even know the whole make up of the National League yet? Which teams are riding? Is there a trophy this year etc? It's being left awfully late this year

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

You do realise you can think that the sport is in trouble, needs new direction but can also be positive about it at the same time, rather than continually talking it down?!! -
It must be "quite difficult" to spend your disposable income on something you don't even know exists though.... Even though it actually does exist in your own town or city..!! Maybe fixing that situation could help a fair few tracks?...

Are you stopping driving your laal bus so you can go every week 🙃
-
Cough... Bonus Point Kings... Cough...

What is disposable income though sounds like putting money down the drain , I see many doing just that though , expensive mobile contracts, Netflix accounts , sky contracts and the dreaded Mac Donald’s Kentucky fried chicken and pizza hut….don’t get me started on red bull and monster 😕 All a lifestyle choice ….where do we go from here Now back to Speedway will it be Four teams (not really viable ) or five teams which hopefully be the case till we can limp into 2027 when who knows what will happen, probably one League anyway ?

The promoters have the sport they want. . Some do it to bring in income to pay their way in life.. Most do it as an affordable hobby, and maybe a bit of an ego trip... Therefore. Any comments on here, or on the various social media pages, will make not one jot of a difference as to how they decide to run the sport... Sadly, we are where we are, simply due to that fact... If they could run the sport "properly" then they would have done so many moons ago, hence the "same old/same old" has been the only plan for a long, long time,, (as it is the best they can deliver), even though it clearly isn't fit for purpose, as the current issues it has led to obviously demonstrate... Their money, therefore, their way, and that is fair.. However, the sport will never grow unless they radically change their operating model, which is simply regressing the sport, almost year after year.. -
Time for a new chairperson?
Wee Eck replied to Racin Jason 72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My guess is that there will be wholesale changes in the Management Board with only one or maybe even none of the existing directors remaining. The new Chairman appointed will seem to some to be an unusual choice. And I don’t expect it to be any of the three mentioned, Phil Morris, Matt Ford or Peter Facenna -
Let Garritty work for Timpson then
-
Disposable income as a percentage of earnings was far higher, 30 years and more, ago.. Lots of "mod cons" today eat away at what used to be available for "going out".. And, let's be honest, a sport with only 14 teams doesn't resonate too highly when it comes to where you may want to spend any "entertainment pound" you have spare... Four meetings, per one months salary's disposable income, is too much for many... Maybe fortnightly would be the sweet spot ..?
-
How about bringing the end of the season forward to ensure regular weekly fixtures through the summer when the kids are off and people are on holiday …… and avoid all the rain offs at the end of the season
-
James Timpson is a multi millionaire through giving people like JG another chance!
-
Rejected because of his past? Is that legal to say that or just not suitable.
-
I know last season Berwick had a 5 week gap
-
I used to remember when every week speedway was on and if not people used to find other things to do with there cash. Yes I get it costs money to put meetings on but people get out of the habit of attending otherwise. Some teams did not have fixtures for over a month last season.

Wonder if Northampton will be the 6th team? Chris Louis to be promoter if he has flogged Ipswich? -

Lets be honest here, the only thing that really matters with the AGM and in 2026 is which teams are lining up to tapes. Hopefully this is the real rock-bottom and that things can only improve and strengthen from here. It'll be a herculean task with everyone involved pulling their weight. Surely it can't get much worse right? ...right?! -
Regardless of whether he has apologised or not, it's completely up to the general public as to whether they support his reintroduction to speedway or not. I think personally a lot of promoters will be prepared to give him a wide berth just purely because it could damage attendance if a convicted felon signs for a team. Speedway as a whole in this country operates on a bare bones level (give or take a handful of genuinely well supported teams) so in my opinion it's just too risky to give him a shot. Think of it from this perspective, if he applied for a job in a supermarket and they rejected him because of his past, would you be surprised? I wouldn't.

Not sure there is transparency in most sports, it is all about covering their backs and treating us all like mushrooms.
