  1. Past hour
  2. If the Muslim or Sikh community were running the GP Gorton would of been alive with streets buzzing with attractions and things to do just like the early years of Cardiff instead discovery put up some scaffolding with a big M on it and think that will entertain fans, some of you must of been to the weston super mare beach race, look how the organisers take over the town making it an event, discovery do nothing and that’s why people won’t go, it’s just a meeting not an event
  3. In your opinion. I think it’s great personally. Creates tension, drama and excitement. But sure, let’s not have any of that nonsense
  4. Absolutely knew you’d be the first to reply here. Took you all of two minutes.
  5. Doyle made a very late decision to ride, even bet 365 were taking bets on Madsen and not Doyle riding, As for the sprint races it's all about opinions. Glad you enjoyed it.
  6. Whether you’re for or against the superheat there’s little doubt it generates a good atmosphere. A real good entertaining Speedway meeting.
  7. So that buffoon attempted to use Flint’s home average across just two meetings as basis to support his point?😂 Brilliant. A grown adult tells us he’s watched the meeting back and given us some of the most child-like observations I’ve ever heard, including ”Leon Flint and his bike were caked in shale”, ”Leon Flint was gutted” and ”remember there were heavy showers that week”. He then attempts to use an average across two - yes, two - home meetings to support his point. All regarding a rider who regularly let the club down last season and has largely continued that trend this season. What a place this forum is. Tribal loyalty supersedes sense.
  8. Latest update copied and pasted from Facebook, Hopefully not breaking any rules etc Wightlink Warriors PR 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Wightlink Warriors plan to stage 2025 Speedway Season After careful consideration, and with the support of our fans and sponsors shown so far, it has given the management of the Wightlink Warriors more confidence to announce their intention to stage a 7 meeting season of speedway between July and September taking place at Smallbrook Stadium. The season plan is to stage 4 team speedway meetings to include the Vince Mapley Memorial, and the Steve Piper Memorial meetings, plus the popular Best Pairs as well as our British Championships to include Women, J.A.P, Upright and the 500cc. We will race on a Tuesday in 2025 allowing access to a greater number of riders as this is a quiet fixture night in the UK. In addition, we hope to stage the British GT140 providing we can find a date in their busy schedule. With the good news of the decision to plan fixtures for the short season, there are still some hurdles to overcome. Firstly, the club needs additional volunteers to enable us to man all the stations on race day. Please let us know If you think anyone would be interested to help. Some of these positions give you the best seat in the stadium to watch the action. Secondly, whilst the offers of sponsorship have been really encouraging, we would still welcome a few more to enable us to fulfil the season’s racing. Finally, getting the message out and more people through the door, We plan to use leaflets and banners this season as these have produced the best results in previous years so, if you know of an area to deliver, Campsites, Hotels etc who will allow advertising, and you can take or deliver them please get in touch. The club is looking for someone to enable us to make better use of Facebook and to help distribute the message across the many Community Facebook groups as Islanders are best placed to have the best insight. Wightlink Warriors promoter Martin Widman added, “Barry and I had a fantastic meeting this afternoon where we both undertook to deliver a season of speedway on the Isle of Wight. We have already overcome some big challenges and we feel that with the backing of our sponsors, and fans along with agreements with riders, we can provide a great season. We are delighted that we are much closer than two weeks ago to securing the season for our Club, and we are so very grateful for all the offers of support. We hope that we have planned an attractive programme of speedway events to showcase Speedway on the Island and will now start talking to riders and clubs about the season.” The management would like to thank everyone in anticipation of their support both financial and physical, which will help us achieve a short but action packed programme.
  9. This was stated and confirmed by Phil Morris on the Podcast. Saturday's will be drawn from a hat as there is no qualifying tomorrow.
  10. State the person who said "Doyle wont be riding" I actually enjoyed watching it and seeing the lines that were useable.
  11. Good luck to the promoters tonight and tomorrow. I hope it is the success that everyone is hoping it will be. The stadium is no Principality stadium but if the racing is as good as the British Final - final race then that is what people remember and hopefully want to attend in the future. Most importantly, I hope the weather plays ball since they can't rely on the roof they had in Cardiff.
  12. What hasn’t been confirmed yet i think is if today’s draw is for both days- Sportowefakty say it isn’t and there is a new draw for tomorrow, which if true must be by ballot. It would be nice to have confirmation.
  13. And there is a vacancy to promote a GP in Cardiff... Do you fancy taking it on? Or maybe try Wembley?...
  14. The tension makes for a great meeting for me - seen some great races without passing and many poor ones with. A faster rider going past a slower one is dull - outfoxing another rider by staying ahead or getting past is of course great to watch. I went to Cardiff a few times, including last year and always had a great time. I also went to the 1990 and 91 world finals, enjoyed them both as well, for different reasons but Manchester didn't attract me this year.
  15. Today
  16. Boy, if ever a meeting proved how much a miss Dan T is, last night was it. The Tigers smelt blood, but didn't quite get the steak on the plate, in a cracking meeting...
  17. Tonight’s draw 1 Kubera 2 Vaculik 3 Lindgren 4 Huckenbeck 5 Zmarzlik 6 C Wright 7 Lebedevs 8 Lambert 9 J Holder 10 Bewley 11 Michelsen 12 Kurtz 13 Doyle 14 Fricke 15 Kvech 16 Thomsen
  18. 90,000 crazy speedway fans from all over Europe created the atmosphere. 6000 senior citizens doesn't quite do it, does it?
