Foxes vs Witches, Thursday 30th April
TB1 replied to paulnolan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
British Speedway is a bit like a grenade waiting to go off. Years ago some pleb pulled out the pin and been wondering around with it in his hand not sure what to do with it. Unfortunately, sooner or later he'll drop it and that will be the end of British Speedway as we know it. -

I think Dean summed it up the best... "Going through the motions"..... Sadly, I would say he is spot on... Best of Luck to Northampton, I will be there at least once this season, hopefully many others will do the same... -
Ah! Memories of the days when you could see as well as feel the heat come back. Much better than central heating., thanks.

It's almost like some riders don't take UK Speedway seriously.... Still... Just as long as they can "bob over" now and again, as and when they can, and honour us with their presence, we will welcome them back with open arms, and it all will be OK.... Have the Northampton Promoters done a "Welcome to UK Speedway" pack for the first time visitors?.. -
Of course it was🤔😂ex Chairman Mr Harkness will no doubt put a word in for him.

Despite all the hype about the size, e.g. Spedeworth says their track is 396 metres, it turns out the track is actually 310 metres! I did a rough measure on GoogleMaps, and it does indeed look much closer to 300ish than any high 300 number. Not sure there's much by way of banking, so the wide line will need some grip ... -
Personally I'd keep Newman & drop Bowes if they want to bring Gilkes back.

Because it's meeting 1, I one of 2 things will happen, way over watered or way under watered. Over watered ipswich win, underwatered and the Foxes win -
Rode in Italy on Sunday but never turned up on Monday at Kings Lynn(finished 2nd in the Italian Championship round) .
-
Thought he was okay to give it a go Sunday. Didn’t feel too bad during the meeting but pain was way worse few hours after. To the point he didn’t think he could ride Monday. Hoping to be back fit for the this weekend with rest and physio.

Strange call running a guest for their opening night.... I suppose it does get "newbies" used to it "early doors"... I would have thought RR would have been the choice given four of their riders would get more track time, and money.... Let's hope Kyle doesn't become the match winner, as he would become the Northampton fans' first hero!!!.... -
Ban would be for failing to ride in UK on Monday due to injury picked up on Friday but which didn’t stop him riding in Italy at the weekend - I suspect he’ll be let off with a warning. The second sentence? Evidence for even thinking like that?

2 home meetings in & I have been surprised by the team doing better than I thought. Its also good to see that the new owners are investing with the new big screen hopefully just the start. However it feels like something is missing the atmosphere feel good factor seems lacking. My be it’s the loss of Emil & Jason or the new presenter or a combination of the 2 I’m not sure. I have certainly come away feeling flat after the first 2. -

Wonder if the Foxes will get some track time in the afternoon ahead of meeting, bit like their P&P?
