  2. I couldn't disagree more about what a newcomer would want to watch. We need to be targeting the youth into speedway for it to have a future. And a lot of those kids will already be into football. Apart from the English/Scottish team they support, what other football shirts do you think are sold the most in the UK for kids? Those with Ronaldo/Messi/Yamal on the back. They love a foreign player that seems 'exotic' just as I did in the 80's with Maradona/Laudrup etc. They want to see and support the best out there, whether that be a player or a rider. When the GP's started to be broadcast by Sky in the 90's, it was the foreign riders just as much as the Brits that made me fall in love with the sport. And I cannot get my head around why you think the Premiership is desperate to destroy the Championship. Without the second division, speedway would collapse in this country. The only thing they want to do is create a clearer gap between the divisions to better the sport in this country. It's not about destroying it. It's about adjusting the product, consolidating, improving and then from there it will change organically.
  3. Today
  4. Harrison not a RS he will be at number 6, if he was going to continue as a RS there would be no reason for him to leave Northampton, I’m pretty sure all RS get paid the same whichever club your at
  5. That team doesnt have two under 21's though.
  6. 1 Ryan Douglas © 9.08 2 Dan Thompson 5.99 3 Sam Masters/Keynan Rew 5.96/6.19 4 Kyle Howarth 4.63 5 Max Fricke 8.24 6 Joe Thompson 3.45 7 Luke Harrison RS If Kyle Howarth is back and Nick Morris/Drew Kemp are gone.
  7. Quite simply. You cannot create an 8 team PL if (a) no CL Club is prepared to be used as cannon fodder to enable Coleman / Lemon and Morris to create an 8 team PL just to get a few morcels of TV money and (b) it's the height of utter hypocrisy to try to parachute a returning Club, which is the case of Eastbourne (but could be many other examples like Birmingham Brummies!) has relied totally on the financial support of the Dugard family Business for over 80% of existence to bale it out year on year and destroyed within 3-4 years a handful of other outside investors who over many decades in the past have pumped endless sums of money in with good but utterly misguided intent to try to make it pay for a wonderfully loyal group of 600-800 regulars! By following (a) or (b) you are in fact diluting the very product that Coleman / Morris / Lemon are desperately trying to "big up" as a TV product and if that isn't ego driven, I don't know what is. In fact if you are a TV executive looking for an exciting meaningful nationally based product that is competitive and happy to be highlights only with occasional LIVE TV , then the Championship would actually be far more appealing and credible. A newcomer watching on TV would be far more interested in close competitive action staffed mostly by UK riders and not names they can't pronounce nor have heard of from various parts of the globe. The PL is what it is, a 6 team Division trying to live way beyond it's means and desperate to destroy the better product which is the CL.
  8. Yesterday
  9. They might be in next seasons GP but neither of them are good enough to be a 1 or 5 in (as crap as it is) the top flight UK league.
  10. Considering it was arranged at short notice and was on a 'school night', the crowd was far bigger than I expected. I think a lot of people made the extra effort to support it in the hope that it would lead to more meetings there next season, and others went just in case it was the last chance !! The biggest problem for stock cars going forwards is going to be pit space. Although the power company that have leased the land are yet to start using it, I am led to believe that they flatly refused to let 'their land' be used by the stock cars, so the promoters had to limit the number of cars that could race and even then it was a tight squeeze and far from ideal. One suggestion I have heard is that as it is no longer deemed safe for spectators, the back straight terracing could be demolished and that area flattened off for stock car pits.
  11. The old numbers game inevitably means riders will be on the move whether they like it or not. Looks like Belle Vue's big hitting top two have set the tone, with other clubs trying to duplicate there receipe for success. Heats 13 and 15 spring to mind here. With all good intentions I can't see many clubs matching Bewley and Kurtz tbh.
  12. A few Poole Plonkers reckoned he was going Windblown Rd.
  13. Think Bowtell isn’t a bad option tbf,his away form would be a worry, but as you say that team would be super strong at home with Bowtell in.
  14. What average would C. Holder be on?
  15. This is what I was thinking but add in Bowtell and then a 2.0 reserve I think aim should be to win as many matches at home and pick up away where they can. shame can’t quite fit trigger in with bowtell
  16. Wasn't it Vinnie Foord after a debate about whether he was allowed to guest or not?
  17. Who was the lad we had last year against Belle Vue at Foxhall who couldn’t get past the second bend? 🙈
  18. Not convinced myself. Bewley, Doyle and King ain’t fitting in a 37 point top 6.
  19. Doyle King Woryna Sticking with that 😁
  20. 1.Nicholls 7.94 2.Thomsen 4.86 3.Barker 7.56 4.Thompson 5.91 5.Batchelor 7.04 6.Foord 3.29 7. (3.40) Looks a decent line up at home that’s for sure. And a lot of GB based riders there aswell.
  21. Brady Norick Zach Tate Tungate Edwards RS In a (continuing) watered down league, I’d be happy with that.
  22. Drew Kemp isn't in Leicester's plans for 2027. Witches tail has Kemp, Cairns and a Rising Star written all over it tbh and I'd be very happy with that tbh.
  23. Bsn interview with Drew Kemp. He has been let go and won’t be returning in 27.
  24. While I agree Barker doesn't look great value on his average, he is very good at home. If they're gonna struggle to build a strong team, can prioritise home wins.
  25. Interested to see if the get Landon in assuming the lad recovers from his recent injuries he looks a more likely bet than Beau Bailey.
