  2. Rumours that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to join the board at Speedway Futures. Looking for new opportunities
  3. Today
  4. Converted National League average maybe as he took a year out of championship?
  5. The league is changing hopefully the NJL continues it will be the local development league
  6. yes who ever wins it should be obvious they are not the world champion.
  7. Usual audio problems this week... wouldn't be the same without them 😂
  8. That's true, would hardly be any other nations in it if I remember rightly.
  9. That’s what I saw too but I remember his average being a bone of contention back then, especially when it came to his eligibility to guest. Cant see this one happening for a few reasons, but if it does it’ll be interesting to see what average he’s given and whether it’ll be reassessed.
  10. I was told Viv doesn't have parentage and hasn't actually qualified for a visa anyway. Maybe next year.
  11. I attended one in Manchester a few years ago.. I said at the time that every UK Speedway promoter should go and see how motorbike racing could be presented.. My lad caught a T shirt and I got roped in to entering the text raffle to win a mini MX bike, which was hanging from fhe ceiling, at a fiver a ticket... They must have paid for that bike several times over given how many phones were in use! Music. Lights. Noise. Colour. Excitement... And a hyped up prize too, where it was said they were racing for a £200k first prize... The reality was that this was the total paid out over the five rounds to the riders.. But nothing wrong with a bit of hype that increases your profile and standing...
  12. I went aswell and it really is an entertaining and enjoyable show, it’s non stop and the 3 hours go so quickly. Thought Dan was playing quite it safe when he had other riders around him but put in a good performance in his second ride.
  13. Just got back from the Arenacross at the NEC Birmingham and thought it worth mentioning a couple of things. Firstly Dan Bewley is a respectable motocross rider, it was only in the whoops which are Supercross specific really that he was losing time in a decent Pro-AM class. Secondly the presentation compared to even the Cardiff GP was so much better. 3 good presenters who ramped up the crowd and kept the interest going between races, probably all a bit shouty for an old bloke like me but the youngsters lapped it up and sport needs the likes of them more than the likes of me for the future. Lots of flashing lights, loud music and freestyle MX/ girls dancing with fire and a guy chucking free kids T shirts randomly into the crowd all accompanied with encouragement for the crowd to make a lot of noise and be involved between races and while the track was graded. (Graded incidentally by the son of Ace of Aces Promoter Ian Barclay) All in all despite decent rather than great racing we came away having had a great time and Speedway could take some lessons from the Promoters of this series. Might not be practical for every meeting but a lot of what they did could be applied to the bigger events and most certainly the GPs.
  14. His last average riding for Kings Lynn 2023 was 7:81. Would he be given a 2.5% UK reduction is up for debate.
  15. Not sure how they’ve exactly worked that out, ultimately time will tell what his average is
  16. Yesterday
  17. Going off his Aussie rides probably about at 5/6 pointer at most in the NDL.
  18. 3 very strong heat leaders and it’ll be interesting to see how Sadler gets on.
  19. Well the side has been announced and there’s quite a few surprises. Both Pijper’s were expected but not Ablitt. Then throw in the ‘retired ‘ Trigger ! Add an unknown Aussie in Sadler ( he must be part British ? ) Didnt expect Southwick to be back but he’s a catch. Ward slightly surprising as I thought he’d prefer a more southern track . Not sure how they’ll line up think it will be Sadler and Ward at reserve which is a gamble, an unknown quantity and Ward blows hot and cold. Slightly disappointed all the local boys have gone and thought Halder was worth a team place all day long. The way this league has been changed means it’s no longer a development league and so this is what you get with experienced riders getting places and the odd non brit. Still, its a team and not a bad one on paper.
  20. Nope I said others had suggested that on the Facebook page 🤔
  21. Come on, they're going to do something very special for the 500cc winner...doubtless including a nice sweetener to ride for Glasgow (if they're half decent). In the Glasgow sponsored Championship no less.
  22. What would Robert Lambert’s average be out of interest?
  23. Thought you said jack schmelt has signed this morning, make yer mind up 😛
  24. This is a big gamble both for the club and rider, I've no idea what the club have seen in him to give him a Championship place, he is not ready to be in the Championship and I see no past form to back it up. This could knock him back as a rider, there are many NDL riders who have shown more than him. I presume Viv Muddle can not have any parentage to be a 2 pointer because thats who i thought they were going to go with.
  25. Tough gig for young Jamie riding Championship but I wish him well. Looks almost too young on that social media signing video 😃. Could put a bit more pressure on Vinnie but that's the cost of a potential strong top 5.
