After last night's season ending defeat it would be a smart move for the management to have a chat with certain Witches riders about average fixing. No point in the Club even attempting to qualify for the play-offs and it's now time to have full focus on 2027. King needs to start average fixing by having some EF's and R's otherwise he'll find himself at Northampton next year if what I'm hearing is true about Mayfield going for a proper 1 & 5 which would both be on 8+ GSA's. Paul Hurry needs to give all Heat 15's to riders who aren't in the Clubs plans for 2027 instead of King.

Glasgow vs Edinburgh - 31st July - Championship

yes -
How were the crowds when they originally reopened I think it was under another Denham but from memory that fella had quite a bit of money behind him, were they poor then or like most clubs have they just declined over time due to the speedway ills we discuss on here daily ?
-
James Denham should never ever of been appointed team manager.

Do you know that? No! -
Don't know what to say about this. The timing seems strange to say the least and is coming from James Denham who states he is giving up the team manager role next season anyway ?. Will keep my thoughts to myself at this time until the situation becomes clearer.

Very droll! But not factually correct. Should Glasgow lose tonight and also to Poole in a few weeks , it would negate their away wins and put them in a battle with Berwick and possibly any other team who manage an away win, like Redcar at Workington. - Today

Yes, agreed brilliant race track, feel for everyone involved so sad

Loftus probs the best -
Louis by all accounts rejected a couple of proposals for Ipswich before going with Mayfield so there are people out there willing to take over clubs. One of Ipswich’ suitors was allegedly Phil Morris along with a couple of others forming a consortium. Fingers crossed there’ll be options for Sheffield IF the Bates’ decide to walk away which we don’t know yet. They’ve known for a while now what they’d ideally like to do, so the best scenario is that they’ve had the time now to find the investment and/or people to take over the club. They’re suffering crowd wise a little at the moment mainly because they’ve lost their star man who helps to bring in the punters.

Tigers vs Foxes, 30th July
YeOldPitGate replied to paulnolan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hopefully they will be back but its a tough sell with no Tai, no Jack but same/more money this year for lower quality product we can ill afford to lose Sheffield or Worky but agree its looking grim at the moment. -
Worrying with Sheffield if the Bates step back will someone with enough money come in to save the Tigers. In the perfect world top league would be eight teams once home and away if nothing else fewer meetings would stem losses and negate the issue of seeing the same teams every other week. Home meetings would need to be at least fortnightly though rather than the current monthly nonsense with some teams.
-
Don't disagree with any of that Noaksey I personally think 8 and 8 way to go with top league once home and away in the perfect world top league standard 30% better than currently so every team has a proper number 1. Second division twice home and away made up of the bottom 4-5 riders in division one plus youngsters from UK and any unpolished under 24 gems we could get from abroad. Two issues straight off the bat is more money would be needed to fund an 8 team better quality top league and doubling up would have to stay for a while so it could pay for the bottom 60-70% of riders in league 1 being able to top up earnings in league 2. I would restrict top league to once home and away if nothing else this alone would stem losses as fewer meetings and if you only saw Kurtz, Bewley etc once a season you might get more inclined to turn out. The caveat would be home meetings at least every fortnight not months between one home meeting and the next.

Sad day for comets fans but to be honest not surprising, as I think only 1 meeting reached a break even crowd, others were a bit away from the level required. Thanks to Andrew Bain and back room people for getting us this far, thanks to the many sponsors big and small, as without them we would not have got this far.🔵⚪🏁. Gonna put a lottery ticket on to try and help the comets out

Well,Jack's time might be legit,Chris went round in 59.79 earlier and the track was really grippy that that evening.Tai was struggling to keep up with Jack in that race! http://www.sheffield-tigers.co.uk/birp130052024.html The times were quick all night.

Leicester vs. Ipswich KO CUP Final 2nd Leg 30/07/26
TTT replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done to the Lions, Rated them before a wheel was turned this season. Stewart Dickson is a likeable TM too so if we were going to lose to anyone then at least it was to Leicester. Richard Lawson is a moody bloke but he scores points to a point where he's a reliable engine room scorer so it's difficult to cut ties with him and find someone who is just as consistent as he is. Scotty Nicholls pulling no punches in his interview and that's the type of people I have respect for in all forms of life, Like I said when we got battered at Belle Vue, Tom Brennan needed help and Doyley should've have been back in, No ifs and no buts about it. At least Tom will be on a 5 something GSA next season to a point where he'll make a mockery of it. -

The top four are currently looking pretty set, so not much riding on this one and I’d imagine it’ll be a polite, tame affair and very few emotionally invested in the outcome. -
Just Jack's to check then and we can re-establish Ricky's record.
-
Crowd was noticeably up on the Kings Lynn fixture ,plenty of kids in for free and a few 'old faces' around me that have been missing, were back.
-
Afraid these changes will come to late for many clubs.

It was later announced that Anders time was null and void due to a faulty transponder!

Not looking good for Workington next year.
