  1. Past hour
  2. Someone having a blast round the GT tyres Northside arena now đŸ€”đŸđŸ””âšȘ
  3. I wasn't keen on Cook either tbh, although he eventually came back at the end of last season, and did ok. I questioned his commitment to the team/club. And Paco was a worry from the start. Big hitter or no big hitter, so far it seems the same old theme.
  4. Too close to call 4 points either way - likely to depend on who gets the rub of the green at a vital time
  5. So what was he thinking about when he got zero at Grudziadz in his last Polish fixture?
  6. Remarkably, still in the higher percentile of their overall finishing places since the early 70s. The Witches used to have a #1 curse - but in recent seasons it’s affected the Deadbeets
Fricke couldn’t raise his game when needed last night. Even so, I thought it would come down to the “engine room”, and so it did.
  7. With the amount of injuries we've seen this season, along with other issues such as riders missing, away riding on the continent and 6 or 8 CL teams riding on the same day the guest and R/R situation needs reformed IMO. It's something that never seems to get looked at. R/R should be made more appealing, as it stands it more often that not, makes the side instantly much weaker and racks up the zero's for the reserves, especially if those reserves are NL guests. Something like if a 5.50 average rider is missing, the team manager gets 22 points (5.50x4) from the team's averages to replace that rider. It can be any combination, i.e an 8.5 could take a ride, but that one ride uses up most of the points, and technically have to use 'weaker' riders for the other 3 rides. It would bring more strategy to the meeting for team managers. If it's deemed too strong at a vote, a 5% reduction to the 22 points figure (20.9) could be in place for R/R used at an away meeting. The 8 day guest rule should be abolished IMO, with a lack of riders, I see no need for this rule anymore. Guests should be able to be brought in from anywhere on previous or assessed averages, i.e not declared in a PL or CL team, this would probably be very rare, but if clubs want to do it let them. The 28 day rule replacement rule is nonsense.
  8. Does anyone know if the new investors are coming in to shore up the speedway side of things or if they are shoring up the stadium ? I'm hoping the latter as I seem to remember if speedway had to pick up the full rent per meeting minus the dogs it was an eye watering number so hopefully if the they are helping refinance the stadium that situation has been avoided. Interested if anyone knows the score Bojangles seems close to Oxford so might have an insight.
  9. Perhaps not pressuring him as such , but last night he certainly showed his seniors how it’s done
  10. Today
  11. Line ups taken from Oxford website. Teams: SD Timmo Car Sales Oxford Cheetahs: Sam Masters (C), Luke Killeen, Anders Rowe, Mitch McDiarmid, Nick Morris (G), Darryl Ritchings, Dayle Wood. Team manager: Peter Schroeck. Poole Wessex Marine Pirates: Richard Lawson, Fraser Bowes, Lewis Kerr, Kyle Newman, Zach Cook (C), William Cairns, Cooper Rushen. Team manager: Neil Middleditch.
  12. Hi, I enjoy a punt on the Speedway Grand Prix, and use Oddschecker to find the best odds. Which firms are pricing up league meetings nowadays? And from what time do the markets normally go up? cheers
  13. wouldnt have had Cook back after the shambles from last year personally. Another season over by mid May, might as well just crack on with the play offs at this point.
  14. Can't stop him doing his stuff though! I don't think they are putting any pressure on him.
  15. Scunthorpe would probably prefer a guest to rr for Luke Harrison i would imagine at Plymouth.
  16. Ben Cook is a strange one has had some really good meetings and you think he's ready to step up then dire, agreed McDairmid would be a better option than Sedgeman at least he's young and might improve. I did think Ben would develop into the better rider out of the Cook brothers but now Zach looks the one who might one day sneak into the gp scene.
  17. Sedgemen as a replacement that's like having to decide to cut off your left or right foot with a rusty breadknife he won't be any better than paco, he's 7 point man in the championship and purely a trapper very rarely overtakes.
  18. Given the Aces away win last nibght this could be a tricky match - my first 'live' of the season (I hope) - Kurtz if he gates will be tough to beat. Key battle at reserves - hopefully a close home win
  19. This is Poole's token gesture to youth development, as said above if some pilots riders were not in the event the home fans will not turn out, be interesting to see what level the crowd is đŸ€”
  20. Nicholls seems to have got things together in the Championship, now need to start seeing some of that translate on a track he knows better than anyone.
  21. If the rules are the same as 2025 it will be. top 2 after 20 heats to final and riders 3rd,4th,5th and 6th in non scoring semi- top 2 to final.
  22. That would only provide twelve riders though. I suspect if Cooper & Cairns weren't in it people probably wouldn't turn out in enough numbers unfortunately.
