Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
bellevueace replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I didnt think Ipswich would win but would keep it within 10 at worst, Blodorn and the reserves have been poor all season and with Dan and Brady in heats 13 and 15 we always had a get out of jail card as we saw against Kings Lynn at the NSS who overall were the better side going into heat 15 only two points down. Ipswich didnt ride well last night, Emil was off it King wasnt good, and Thompson didnt do as well as i thought but it was still only a 6 point advantage, for a team who are supposed to have such a large home advantage it wasnt good from our point of view, we were always the weakest of the four in the play offs and we paid the price for not changing things around. Ipswich are just a better all round side as will be underlined on Thursday. Its going to be interesting between Ipswich, Sheffield and Leicester though. -
With 3 guests and R/R it was hardly a Birmingham team, so I'm not sure it's really worth bickering about đ¤ˇââď¸

If the real Kurtz and Bewley turn up on Thursday it could still be close... if they can get 24 between them the other 5 only need 19... which could be done if either Cook or Lidsey can have a night out... And if that happens... All down to Danny King in heat 8 last night... should hang his head in shame... and let's not forget that this is the second time he's done it... Brennan and Doyle certainly showed him up big time in the following heats showing real heart and bottle in what looked on paper like tough ones for Ipswich... -

No names of riders that i can see yet listed. Sadly itâs a big day in Poland with 8 teams riding which will mean a lot of top riders unable to take part. -

At one stage it looked as if they could push us and they were unlucky to lose at the NSS being the better side over the whole meeting, 2 points down going into heat 15 our top two got us out of jail, if they did have a bonafide No1 it would have been even more interesting. -

No don't blame British speedway this is all on Mike Lemon. The other teams haven't put up prices just BV. I'm glad the crowd was small trying to rip off the fans -

Kept hold of norick, lidsey & tate way too long this season. Mulford does whats expected and chips in. Lidsey imo has never looked comfortable in the uk. No idea why lemo keeps signing him. Looks quick when out of the gate at nss but no desire to mix it like brady, cook, bewley. Away form is woeful at best. Norick hasnt improved over the seasons we've had him & tate needed a season to get his confedence back -

Zach was terrific, Lidsey very up and down, he may have had bike issues, Mulford, Blodorn and Zische just are not that good, Bewley was incredible, Kurtz was good but Doyle was amazing, what a rider at his age, Emil and Danny King were poor, Ipswich reserves were very good. -

Much better result for the Witches than feared after last Thursday's non-performance. Lemon's obsession with Zischke is fascinating - always seeming to favour him over Mulford, even though the young Brit is just as likely to produce at least one good ride per meeting (and has a higher average). -

more or less what i expected, lost our chance to get a bigger lead in the 1st 7 heats, Doyle is a proper team man and can do what is needed when the chips are down., cook better than i thought and lidsey worse, Mulford and zichskie, as expected, cant fault bewley or Kurtz for their effort, and blodorn the less said the better. its not gonna happen at Ipswich. hopefully 2 better meetings in other semi. - Today

Ipswich need to get off to a good start on Thursday. Kurtz & Mulford both had good heat wins at Ipswich last time out. we cannot afford to have a opening 6 heats like we did against Lynn in the cup or Sheffield last week. Game on letâs see what happens. Doyle alluded in his interview that Ipswich would rough it up & go & play on Thursday. -

I'm convinced 'that septet' would have done in the end but for Cook's broken wrist. - Yesterday

Youâre making absolutely no sense here whatsoever. âStill couldnât beat themâ? Well neither Sheffield or Leicester have beaten Belle Vue there either have they? And yet according to you, because of tonightâs result theyâll now fancy their chances? You seem very confused and to be honest, a bit bitter. Neither Sheffield OR Leicester will be fancying their chances. Theyâll be second favourites in the final and theyâll know that full well. -

Well they are hardly the Poole Mafia, looked more like a gaggle of mouthy g_ts to me. Not representative of Poole's fans, and very unlikely to put the effort into making the trip to Glasgow. -

Imagine being poor all season but hanging on to the hope that âthese are only qualifiersâ and âwe know Belle Vue turn up in the play offsâ oh dear oh dear. Only a 6 point lead. All jokes aside, I still am fearful we will do something stupid like rely on King to get points and he ends up with 2 points and all of a sudden itâs squeaky bum time! -

Probably as expected. The Witches even not on full form can still push the weakest team in the play offs to a last heat decider. The Aces bottom 4 have been awful for most of the season. The reserves could have been changed before Tates average dropped to give them at least a better chance. Lemons faith in the reserves has cost them big time. The witches still have to do the job on Thursday and of course anything can happpen and the Aces have been able to step up under pressure in past play offs. Given that some Aces fans have already given up after tonight đ I suppose they will be telling us to write us off at your peril if they pull it back. Lets face it it will be a huge shock if they do progress. -

Yes, really. Itâs clear what youâre trying to do here Mike and it isnât working. The result isnât what you were hoping for tonight, and itâs obviously stung a little. No. What Iâm saying is nobody was tipping Ipswich to win this meeting, unless I missed it? And yet now Mike is saying we should have pi$$ed it because youâre so cr@p. We were all told ad nauseam that the only reason you lost in the very first meeting, was because you âalways start slow every year and get caught coldâ. The two league meetings since were a draw (when you werenât at full strength), and a 14 point home win which was more typical of an Ipswich performance at the NSS in recent years.
