Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
Chrisdonnelly replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kept hold of norick, lidsey & tate way too long this season. Mulford does whats expected and chips in. Lidsey imo has never looked comfortable in the uk. No idea why lemo keeps signing him. Looks quick when out of the gate at nss but desire to mix it like brady, cook, bewley. Away form is woeful at best. Norick hasnt improved over the seasons we've had him & tate needed a season to get his confedence back -

Zach was terrific, Lidsey very up and down, he may have had bike issues, Mulford, Blodorn and Zische just are that good, Bewley was incredible, Kurtz was good but Doyle was amazing, what a rider at his age, Emil and Danny King were poor, Ipswich reserves were very good. -

Much better result for the Witches than feared after last Thursday's non-performance. Lemon's obsession with Zischke is fascinating - always seeming to favour him over Mulford, even though the young Brit is just as likely to produce at least one good ride per meeting (and has a higher average). -

more or less what i expected, lost our chance to get a bigger lead in the 1st 7 heats, Doyle is a proper team man and can do what is needed when the chips are down., cook better than i thought and lidsey worse, Mulford and zichskie, as expected, cant fault bewley or Kurtz for their effort, and blodorn the less said the better. its not gonna happen at Ipswich. hopefully 2 better meetings in other semi. -
Not live no but seen videos, he is very good and getting better.

I’m going to hazard a guess and say he hasn’t. Going to hazard another guess and say he is being an arse.

Ipswich need to get off to a good start on Thursday. Kurtz & Mulford both had good heat wins at Ipswich last time out. we cannot afford to have a opening 6 heats like we did against Lynn in the cup or Sheffield last week. Game on let’s see what happens. Doyle alluded in his interview that Ipswich would rough it up & go & play on Thursday. - Today

I'm convinced 'that septet' would have done in the end but for Cook's broken wrist. - Yesterday

You’re making absolutely no sense here whatsoever. “Still couldn’t beat them”? Well neither Sheffield or Leicester have beaten Belle Vue there either have they? And yet according to you, because of tonight’s result they’ll now fancy their chances? You seem very confused and to be honest, a bit bitter. Neither Sheffield OR Leicester will be fancying their chances. They’ll be second favourites in the final and they’ll know that full well. -

Well they are hardly the Poole Mafia, looked more like a gaggle of mouthy g_ts to me. Not representative of Poole's fans, and very unlikely to put the effort into making the trip to Glasgow. -

Imagine being poor all season but hanging on to the hope that “these are only qualifiers” and “we know Belle Vue turn up in the play offs” oh dear oh dear. Only a 6 point lead. All jokes aside, I still am fearful we will do something stupid like rely on King to get points and he ends up with 2 points and all of a sudden it’s squeaky bum time! -

Probably as expected. The Witches even not on full form can still push the weakest team in the play offs to a last heat decider. The Aces bottom 4 have been awful for most of the season. The reserves could have been changed before Tates average dropped to give them at least a better chance. Lemons faith in the reserves has cost them big time. The witches still have to do the job on Thursday and of course anything can happpen and the Aces have been able to step up under pressure in past play offs. Given that some Aces fans have already given up after tonight 🙄 I suppose they will be telling us to write us off at your peril if they pull it back. Lets face it it will be a huge shock if they do progress. -

Yes, really. It’s clear what you’re trying to do here Mike and it isn’t working. The result isn’t what you were hoping for tonight, and it’s obviously stung a little. No. What I’m saying is nobody was tipping Ipswich to win this meeting, unless I missed it? And yet now Mike is saying we should have pi$$ed it because you’re so cr@p. We were all told ad nauseam that the only reason you lost in the very first meeting, was because you “always start slow every year and get caught cold”. The two league meetings since were a draw (when you weren’t at full strength), and a 14 point home win which was more typical of an Ipswich performance at the NSS in recent years. -

Well... Jason Doyle on the exit from turn 2 with a motorbike wasn't a Cluedo tonight... I'll take that. Kings Lynn were never making the playoffs with that septet! No #1 ..two past it but entertaining (can't gate) former GP riders & the enigma that is R,3,2,0,R Kilndt. -

So what your saying, if I'm reading this right, nobody was tipping Ipswich tonight because Belle Vue are unbeatable at home apart from the two times out of 3 Ipswich have rode there 🤣. The result was as expected, I said 49-41 before the meeting. -
Have you seen Villads race?

Really? Four of the six points lead came from a Blodorn and Mulford 5-1.. Let that sink in.... Beating Danny King!!! As I say, the Aces are a four man team, with three of the worst riders left in the competition making up the septet... And still, you couldn't beat them, even with a recent British Champion at reserve!!! Dan T is sadly exposed at second string away from home, (apart from Leicester maybe?) and Adam Ellis needs to do the job Dan T did when at reserve (covering the middle order).. Danny King, as we know, can have horrible nights, especially when the pressure is on, and if Dan T and Ellis are not on it, then that pressure will 100% be on him.. From being a "shoe in" for the title, I now think both the Lions and the Tigers will be fancying their chances massively against the Witches.. -

Was well worth his team place this year so disagree. Comfortably upped his average and been consistent. Next year though, different kettle of fish now his average has risen again close to the 7 mark but that’s a discussion for a few weeks time when this season is done. -

We were poo last week at home. Wouldn’t give up hope yet if I were you. Pray for rain. -
There are/were 4 rugby pitches so space wouldn't be a problem, but whether it'd be a motorsport venue(Mike Hailwood,a motorsport legend was tragically killed very nearby back in 1981),i'm really not sure.🤔I don't know whether it's being looked at or considered for any development(Birmingham RFC merged with Solihull RFC many years ago,and Portway became an alternative rugby venue for the Bees).🤔Have fond memories at 16 years old of cycling through the leafy lanes to go training and then missing the last train home from Earlswood and end up cycling the rest of the way home.😄
